Makes sense. Atlanta was one of the first 5 races of the year, so teams that had no points to fall back on DNQ'd. Then, the 2nd race at Atlanta was at the end of the year when teams had run out of provisionals.

Chad Little was robbed because i did research and he was 38th fastest 188.912 mph while Darrell Waltrip was 46th fastest with a 186.717 mph and yes Little didn't have provisional since it was a new team but when your 9th in points before Atlanta and DW was 38th in Points but with the DW's Champion's Provisional sends Chad Little home and I will say this u can still use the 1997 points system for qualifying but 4 races is too much why not 3 races and since there 30 teams racing full time why not top 20 in points automatically in after las Vegas and if your not in the top 20 in Points even if your a champion that provisional is blocked
