Hi Robbie and Brent! What a sweet thing to do for your Grandpa and Grandma. It was fun seeing their faces and watching Grandpa shopping for the puppy and him cuddling with Grandma. Charlie is such a cute name for such a precious puppy. They'll enjoy him so much! The hopseed are really pretty. They will add great contrast to the arbs and make a pretty privacy screen. Thank you so much for sharing!

Do not feel bad for showing off your beautiful roses. Those of us in frozen temps love to see your blooms! That's the joy of loving to garden. We comfort each other in the failures and rejoice in the beauty we can share. Can I tell you how many awesome presents I've ordered through your gift guides... might be broke, but I will have some happy family members. 😂 You showed your Christmas tree in a recent video and I love the ornament with the two cardinals. Could you share a link for it?

I love hopseed! I’m in zone 10b and I totally agree that they’re not used enough in warmer zones because they can be trained as a drought tolerant plant. They really are versatile. I actually clip the bottom portion of mines to create a tree form. You can leave them as a hedge or tree form.

Robbie, here is a gardening horror story: I bought a $20 ficus benjamina tree for the house and then planted it outside next to the house for more sun since its leaves were dropping. The wind blew it over, so I moved it further out 20 ft from the house, but only 4 ft from the patio. It grew from 6 ft to now 40 ft in 4 years!!!Double trunk and the roots started rising up and traveling way out from the tree. I asked about this online and called a nursery and everyone said get it out of there, it can ruin your plumbing and patio and lift your house. I had NO idea. Now I have to pay (and this is cheap) $450 to remove it and as many roots as we can see. I heard the roots can keep growing even when the tree is gone. I am so upset. It is the most gorgeous tree in the backyard and it breaks my heart to kill any plant or tree. What would you think about this?
