Surprising my son with a car, Part 4 - Peugeot 208 Allure Premium +

After being let down by Cinch, Cazoo & Marshall Canterbury Peugeot, I ended up using Arbury Peugeot in Leamington Spa.
Forth time lucky in buying a car for my son.

I've been a Peugeot owner since 2004.(206, 307 and currently driving a 308) Not a single problem in any of them. You just need to stay away from bad dealerships. That 208 is stunning. Congrats to your son. I hope he enjoys it.

Thanks for your comment, really appreciate you reaching out. Yes he is very happy with it and hopefully years of trouble free driving. I had an old 2011 307 once and the head gasket went on it so i patched it up and part ex’d it before it caused me problems.

It boils down to where you buy it from rather than the manufacturer. I use Motorpoint, used car shop in past and Seat Leon had lots of electric issues. My current 208 from motorpoint is fantastic, great car.

Had a Peugeot for over 10 years, on my third. My main dealer in Shropshire is really great at looking after them. I’ve purchased from Arbury (Lichfield ),twice from Robins and Day (Salford and Sale). All dealers were A1 no pressure or problems. I have encountered a not so good one or two when looking for a Peugeot for one of our daughters. Check out reviews easily weed out the good from the bad. Hope your son enjoys it (I drive the same car also in black (manual gearbox though).

I think it pays to go to a main dealer, maybe more expensive whereas car supermarkets get their cars from ex fleet/hire companies & it shows from this vid, excellent outcome, looks great in black, great insight vid Boom 👍

OMG, how much cars you avoided... In Argentina all of those are more than DECENT. I bought a 207RC and the seat's leather has one hole and it's old (the alcantara is in good condition tho), there's a few things to do to the engine, etc. Nice car u onwned. Here it comes with the 1.6 16v from the 206 (slightly modified so now it does 115hp). I would love to see that car with a powerfull engine like the 1.6 16v thp.

Thanks for your message. The problem with these cars were the garages did not declare there was anything wrong with them so when you travel for 2 hours to see them and find damage you expect more things are hiding so walk away. It has to be a small engine as insurance here is ridiculously expensive. 👍🏻

you will never have a 1.6 in these cars anymore. they eat fuel and insurance is crazy. manufacturers are now fitting turbo engines rather than use direct injection

Welcome to my home town my sister in law got Peugeot 308 gt line from there too and it was really the best purchases well done for the car. I also was buying a car from Cazoo had bad experience I too don’t recommend them and also they never let me see the new car while they check my old one.

May 2021 I arranged to view a 2019 Nissan Juke Acenta , 40 mile trip with my youngest son I started looking over the car before the sales executive came out I found a very small paint chip on the rear bumper and a big scuff on the front bumper , The salesman came out I pointed out that the front bumper was a deal breaker he said he had only parked the car there 10 minutes ago . CCTV showed a visitor has reversed into the Juke and driven off He went in and came out with the sales manager the manager said if I accepted the car which was in pristine condition apart from the previously mentioned faults then he would arrange for the car to be collected from my home the following week , repaired and delivered back to me a courtesy car would be left for my use . the salesman over a brand new Nissan Juke Tekna which is a model I had been wanting to try out the following day my car was delivered back to me in perfect condition they had repaired both chip and scuff no charge as promised now March 2023 this Juke is running perfectly and I have no plans to change Aylesbury Nissan are brilliant a used car dealer who expects a potential customer to accept scuffs,dents ,scratches ,and other damage is not worth bothering about .

We looked at kazoo, and thought about them, and then we saw a few videos like yours, and another one where someone was filming outside their depot and showing the battered motors that were going to be reconditioned 😱
