Why would you go out of your way to try and negate a positive comment? Of course no family is perfect. I’ve said this before, your grandma reminds me SO much of my grandma who passed a few years ago. Her voice, her mannerisms, the way she always loves being part of the party even if she doesn’t know exactly what the party is. I won't tell you that it hurts less with time because that's a lie, it hurts just as much today as it did the day she died 16months ago. But you do slowly learn how to live with the pain, you figure out how to function and get through the days while still feeling so broken.
