Make the wall into a giant chalk board. You can outline it with trimming . they can draw on it during the winter. All you need is chalk paint.

I love the room makeovers- I agree have all your kids on the same floor as you and Ben, particularly when they still young. You can convert the upstairs loft into another room with double barn doors, that way you got the option of it being a bedroom/playroom. Particularly when Clara will need a room next to transition in, when she's 6 months old and having the older 3 girls in one room would be very crowded. In the future later on you should move Ella and Avrey down to basement when they are teenagers at least!♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I agree my nieces shared a room but they stared fighting a lot so we moved one to the basement for her 12th bday and I still feel like it was slightly too early but it has worked better than them sharing a room. We got her an Alexa so she would be able to call upstairs quickly if needed.

I think you doing the best for your daughters!! We have 4 rooms and two daughters and they are sharing room. We put them in separate rooms when we moved in and they refused to sleep alone in a room. We had them share room and they love it and sleep pretty well since then

I agree with you. I had three girls in one room until the addition was finished. I too did not feel comfortable with the girls not being on the same floor as us. It gave me peace of mind.

Oh love, you don’t need to justify anything. As parents you need to do what is right for the family. Personally I loved having our children close to us. The practical side of parenting with your children on the same floor makes sense….when they are sick,saying goodnight, putting things away (clothes, toys etc). Having the girls in rooms together or close means they get to build great relationships with each other. As a mama, I would be scared having my children two floors down from me too, we instinctively listen out for them too…sick, nightmares, sad…. But also safety and home security. When they are older, it is different and they will let you know when the time is right to move them to a different floor but that’s a future thing. They are so lucky to have each other and gorgeous parents who have helped them become close friends. Not all sisters are that lucky. ❤

My sister has that exact same bed like Addie’s. We started having those big beds right when we were just born. And we still have them till this day as we’re 20. So we kept our same beds for 20 years now! 😊💚

Omg Addie has gotten so big. I feel like she was just a little baby yesterday. You guys are amazing parents! I hate that you feel like you have to explain why you make certain decisions for your family. It’s silly. Like why should it matter if two share a room or not? It’s what works for your family. As long as everyone is safe and happy should be all that matters. OH! For Addie: the bed thing. I use these little dividers that you can just slide in under the fitted sheet. It works for my two girls. They tend to thrash around and sleep walk and it has done a good job keeping them from falling out of the bed. Also makes a cocoon around them and makes them feel cozy. Idk. Just thought I’d suggest this in case you didn’t like the bed rails!

Clara is looking a lot like Ella ☺️😊 To me they look like Ben a lot. All your girls are so adorable. I agree about keeping the girls upstairs with you while they’re still so little. It’s safer and give you both peace of mind. Nothing wrong with sharing rooms and I think while kids are little they even prefer it. I think it helps them feel safer, and it’s cozy and also fun. I don’t think they need separate rooms until they’re quite older. Older tweens into teen years. I would absolutely choose to do the same thing 👍🏼

I was one that though why not put the oldest in her own room rather than having one of the younger ones in their own. But if they personally don’t want that it makes sense. Why not put bunk beds in the bigger of the 2 rooms, and maybe put the girls together and have the smaller room as a nursery until the baby has more of a similar sleep schedule? 😊

Honey I shared a room with 2 brothers on a bunk bed. My older sister many nights slept with me as well so 4 of us in one small room. Having your own room seems only to be important as a teen but if you don’t have space non issue to me.
