The porters are employed by the port, not the cruise line. They do expect tips (right or wrong). Your tip of $10 for your 4 fairly small bags was just fine. Have no worries.

We stayed at five star all inclusive resorts and we still left tips. We did not leave 20% but we left a few bucks because it was places like Mexico Riviera Maya and Cancun and Jamaica and Punta Cana.

As an American, I HATE TIPPING CULTURE here! Living in Las Vegas, everyone has their hand out expecting a tip. NO THANKS. Glad you called out the Virgin baggage check-in person. No doubt that people will see your video and perhaps make changes.

So glad the secret was finally revealed! I've been holding my breath! The camera flickering is most likely due to the frequency settings of your camera and the different electrical frequencies in the US. You probably have a PAL camera... if you can change the settings, change it to NTSC. Basically Europe's electrical frequencies pulse at 50Hz and the US is at 60Hz... so while you can't see the off-cycle flicker, the camera can. If you can't switch modes, see if you can switch your shutter speed to 1/60 or 1/120. You might also be okay if you're shooting in 30fps, but I'm not 100% sure. And remember to switch it back when you're home. But now that I think about it, you're probably already back home... but something to keep in mind for your next US trip!

Travel tip: pack bandages for blisters especially if traveling with new shoes that haven’t been broken in yet. Sandals especially can create blisters. Bon voyage men and Happy Birthday Peter! 🎉

Honestly I get a little worried when I hear it’s an adult only cruise, because often times adults can be more obnoxious than kids, especially after drinking! 😂 But I’m glad you had a good time. 7:40 I agree!! I'm an American, and I *hate* the whole tipping thing, man. I avoid full service restaurants largely because of that. Here in California, we fixed it so food service is also paid AT LEAST the local minimum wage (which is 17 usd/hr) just like everybody else, yet, they still expect tips!! Argh. Don't get me wrong, I tip well. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. 🙂

Keegan, I agree with you about tipping, they really need to show they deserve it and to ask for it is a no-no! I, too, am rather generous in tipping and I rarely tip under 20%. When it comes to my barber, however, I have never tipped him because I look at it as that is their job so unless I want something special which I never have, I don't tip. Living in AZ where we have numerous Snowbirds, and if they tip great but I am a year round resident so my barber can count on my business all year and with our cost of haircuts I just can't come to tipping! I have taken several cruises and loved everyone so have fun and enjoy being pampered! You too, Joel!!!!

I tip 20% unless they aren't worth it. Keegan, you should have said, "Your tip is do your job and do it without messing up our bags." I have written a tip on a piece of paper and left it on the table saying, "My tip for you is to find a different job."

The lines are an incompatibility between your shutter speed and the LED lights when can cause problems at any shutter speed. When in the U.S. it is better to change your shutter speed to work with 60hz. As of the ship, not sure what line frequency they use. LED's are just problematic like the old fluorescent lights. Better LED lamps typically don't cause issues. I suspect that if you had the lights in the cabin dimmed, that may be the problem.

I loved Peter's expression when he found out about the cruise, hysterical, 😂,hope you enjoyed your cruise. Keegan sorry but it's expected for you to tip per bag to the porter handling your luggage getting on or off the ship,that is how they make their money. You tip your housekeeping staff,the waiter at the end of the cruise and the bar person as well and any other person providing you a service, like room service ,massage, gym staff,if you use the laundry the person who delivers your clothes back to you, you plan to spend hundreds if not thousands on tips if you want good reliable service.

Great vlog. I loved Peter's reaction when you pulled up on the Virgin Terminal. His laugh is that of genuine surprise. It's unfortunate you had that issue with guy wanting a tip. That should go on the comment card. I'm glad you were able to move beyond that and enjoy being on the ship with your friends. I observed Keegan laying on the bed and his feet hanging over the edge. It's too bad they can't make the beds a little longer. I'm sure Keegan is not the only guy on the ship that's having that problem. So far so good for day one on the ship. Oh I almost forgot. Children are not allowed. That makes a big difference on what going to happen on an Adults Only ship. Have fun.

So much goodness! Yay for an adult only cruise with such fun people! The whole things looks like a great time and getting booked for massage, sunrise, etc. And so glad you got to surprise Peter, he looks such an amazing fun person to be with. I hope his birthday was amazing. Been on only one cruise and I felt like Keegan and had to just not think about being out in the middle of the abyss. Then it was just like being in a big fancy hotel, until we went to the excursions. I hope the rest of the staff are less entitled. And also decently paid, cuz often they don't get much at all and are still super kind just hoping they make enough to send home to family, but maybe not on Virgin. Anyway. Looks like a blast!

He's the type that you could set off a cannon next to him and he wouldn't flinch :) Like my son. I love your cabin but being on hammock that high up would give me the heebie jeebies. By, the way, my sister's family go on 3-4 cruises a year and one time her nephew was running early in the morning. The deck was slick and he went right off the boat. They fished him out a few hours later and said "Oh my god, why didn't you drown?" and he said "Never occurred to me".

I wish I'd thought to warn you about the rude tipping fad/craze that has popped up in the USA during the past few years. So many of the younger workers in the service industries think they are entitled to large tips whether they wait on you or not. Even some restaurants are adding large tips to bills without telling customers . When confronted, they say the gratuity is to help pay for workers' insurance & health benefits. WTH? I worked as a waiter for 8 years in my youth, but I never expected a tip from anyone, but was always grateful to get one of any amount. I tried to give each customer as good of service as I could. I rarely eat out anymore, mostly due to having state 4 cancer since 9/2020. But if I do, I try to give a suitable tip if I can. Anyone asking for a tip will NOT get one from me. It is a gift, not an obligation.
