Upgraded from an older 18v kit. kzbin.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

I’ve been using this impact for about 3 months and all I can say is holy smokes man, it def hits hard. The build quality is not only felt but heard. The sound of the brushless motor is very unique sounding… almost like having a Jet engine in your hand or something. So here’s the one draw back. I would say that this is definitely built for the professionals in mind. A novice wouldn’t know how to wield and control its power which is why so many of these comments talk about the worry of stripping screws. The truth is you def can if your not careful but the screw modes cover your ass damn well. I like them both and keep on driving small screws when building decks or when driving 50 or more screws on a project. She don’t drive like a Triple hammer or Makita but that’s the point, that’s what makes it a good impact driver to have incase you wanna lighten the load and not have to pack a mid torque. It obviously won’t and can’t do everything but I believe that it has the most Versatile array of uses. It covers a lot of driving and fastening applications and situations. Can’t wait for the competition to upgrade and release strong competition. Great video! -Larz

That is a damn good looking tool. I nearly bought the impact driver kit the other day at Lowe’s , impulsively, bc I thought of the lifetime offer. Not sure if it makes sense for me though, I’m so deeply invested in the Milwaukee platforms that it’s gonna take a lot to convince me otherwise. Especially with the variety as well as build quality and power that red offers. The gen 3 impact and surge is about as good as it gets with the high output 3.0 on it. My favorite tool and first one out of the bag is the M12 fuel gen 2 impact driver with the cp3 on that bad boy. That thing is so capable and compact that it’s insane. Ok , now I’m rambling. Looks like a decent option though and if not invested in other platforms I’d highly consider flex. As always, great video.

I just purchased the combo kit that came with the Flex model FX1351 Z impact driver and the FX 1151 Z 2 speed drill driver, two small batteries and a nice charger. Spent some time with the Impact driver driving 5 inch lag bolts into 3 screwed together 2x4's. Drove em in and out just fine with no problems and no stopping. Vibration in the hand is minimal. The build quality seems to be Top Notch and in line with the quality and power of other brands of professional model tools. My basic cordless Ryobi drills are now approximately 15 and 18 years old with plenty of hard use and they are both getting weak but still work okay, so I would expect that this new FLEX drill and impact driver should last an occasional DIY'er a lifetime. The limited lifetime warranty covering the tools, the charger, and, the batteries is a plus as well.

Just a few tips when you do your torque testing... 1. let the impact keep going forward until the sockets stop moving then let it impact 5 sec more for good mesure. 2. when you tightened a bolt wait 10 min for the steel to cool shrink and settle down 3. If possible get brand new bolt for the nut busting portion with that 10 min cooling after setting the torque value of course 😉 4. Keep up the good work 🤙 and if you win the power ball send me a little something so I can buy some of these flex tool and make some video on them 😜😂

It is true, when you cold work steel at those levels, above 250 ft-lbs,, you do introduce a hardness and then stress factor. But only with strain gages can you quantify it. You'd not only need new nuts, but studs too. But I'm sure for the short term, these tests are "valid" when using for demo purposes. How else would you do it anyway? As an engineer, I understand your point. I studied and broke bolts in tests to see the different metals stress. But letting them cool for ten minutes makes no difference really. Replacing stressed nuts might.

Ha, my flex couldn't remove 125ft/lbs on a lugnut. And the erupted oil all over the wheel. I will test the Milwaukee gen 3.5 on the same test.

That impact driver will prolly remove Honda crank pulley bolt with the Lisle 19mm socket..Flex is the real deal 500 ft lbs kit with 2 batteries and a charger is a steal at $249.That thing is not a beast..it's a Monster

The M12 stubby with a 6 amp hour battery would be really competitive with that guy!!

Great video. Looks like another top performer on the market. There is one thing that concerns me. Why aren't all the tool review channels doing Flex VS xxxx videos. Just about every tool review video is a "VS" video (not yours but...) for the other brands but not Flex? Why aren't we seeing the head to head videos yet?

This line of tools is brand new this month. Only so many have gotten their hands on it. Lowe’s is the only retailer and there still aren’t any reviews on their website yet. Mastering Mayhem ran the Flex recip saw against five other big names and it was impressive, coming in second behind the unexpected winner Metabo HPT.

Waiting for Ave, Project Farm, Torque Test etc. No offense but these type of reviews don't really tell me much.

We will do some head to heads, but we always like to release a standalone review, first, if we can. Then, we'll come back and compare to others. Thanks for watching.

Well milwaukee impact drivers are out of the question for some people because of it having a common issue with the collet releasing the bit on it's own.

Man you really struggled to get that bit off with that gimmicky eject switch and with the collet only. The collet is to short and smooth to really pull out the more common way. I think this switch was unnecessary like the turbo button on the drill, but hey maybe a good way to test that warranty fine print, as I think that switch will be a failure point. Look how hard you had to push, it left a switch imprint on your finger lol ... Only time will tell ...
