As someone who used to teach children with Autism, this episode hits close to home. I have many friends who teach. Each and every teacher I have ever known is selfless, compassionate, giving, caring, loving and generous. As a science teacher myself this was very heart felt and uplifting. The classroom often doesn't pan out that way you imagine it will (even as a seasoned teacher) kids are hard to win over but honestly I think you did eventually as these kids clearly got into it. 5:20 due to lack of proper equipment, I often fry my eggs in a saucepan... ridiculous I know. But flipping them is dang near impossible. That little weird spatula would make my life so much easier ... so would a proper frying pan, I suppose

I think you have earned enough human self respect credits to treat yourself and buy a decent frying pan. To be honest, you will find a good sized non stick sauté pan more versatile. You can fry eggs in it (on low heat with cover on to prevent spatter and cook eggs more evenly) as well as cook many other things in it. The Calphalon Classic Nonstick Saute Pan with Cover is a thumbs up. I got mine (5 QT) at a store called “Homegoods” cheaper than anywhere else and it’s a great pan. And of course, you WILL NOT use metal utensils in it......I know you would not do that.

Yes that’s due to all the mixing/whisking. Sauce pan (higher sides) works. You’d have a really hard time with that in a frypan (very low sides), but could also pull it off in a sauté pan (medium sides) if you were a bit more careful. I say if I had to choose to have only ONE pan it would be my 5 QT covered non stick sauté. I know how to cook fairly well. When I was single I cooked a lot more. Sometimes I’d challenge myself to use only one cooking vessel for any meals all week (pot, pan, baking tray, casserole dish, etc). You learn a lot and try different things by limiting and adapting yourself in that way. I watched Andy’s quesadilla video and I have the same exact size cast iron pan ( that’s a big pan ) that I got at a yard sale for $2 and had yet to use. So i took it out and made them his way. Best quesadillas I ever made. I think I made different forms of them 3 times in 10 days.

In my experience when you're in "work mode" and especially "teacher mode" where you have to present a really clean, specific version of yourself, its really hard to just flip that switch and express everything freely.

Whenever someone is in a hole they cant get out of. All they need is a helping hand. And you babbish are that helping hand. Changing people's outlooks on things. Helping and making people happy every day by either cooking, inspiring, or just being seen by someone. Keep doing this man. Love what you do. And you helped me learn some cooking tips too.

There's so many things I love about this episode. School teachers are important because they shape the future and to help out one that is trying to help them learn basic life skills Is amazing. Also the New Orleans vibe in the second half of the video makes me so happy being a New Orleans native. I would love to see you make some cajun style food dishes in an episode. On another note you said you came down and gutted houses after Katrina and that means alot. Everyone here lost so much during the storm that we will never get back and any help we receive during that time I appreciate it so much.

I’m a New Orleans native and want to thank you guys for being a part of the recovery efforts following Katrina. Though I’ve lived in another state since ‘02, I’m back home 3-5 times a year (my family is still there), and though natives know the city will simply never be the same, it’s only because of the selfless acts of caring people like you guys, we would not have been able to make today’s Crescent City possible.

What a wonderful episode. I extend this to my friend Ana who is currently in her exam to be an elementary teacher. She has some difficulties to cope with the requirements but will not give up. So this episode i will extend the thank you to include her and all other teachers (in Training) as well.
