Adelaide Cottage is small enough that they can use it as a private residence only. Her rooms full of clothes and any entertaining they must do can be done at Windsor Castle or Buckingham Palace, depending upon the nature of the event. They are wise to be physically nearer the children's school, the Middletons, and the Wessexes to help maintain a real family life.

That’s a handy arrangement. The palace is her dressing room and showplace, and they can just have a cozy life in the cottage. It’s as if the cottage is just a set or a playhouse. It doesn’t have to suit all their needs.

Catherine doesn't want too many servants she may have a cook a few hrs a day and a cleaning lady maybe everyday or so. But she wants to do things herself. She's a great non egotistical very awesome woman

I loved touring Windsor. I didn't mind paying for it because it was a great trip. But I can see why they don't want to live there.

This couple works very hard to make a normal family life for themselves and their children. By continuing to reside in Adelaide Cottage I think it probably keeps things closer to the manner in which Catherine was brought up. As their children grow older they may feel the need to move to the castle, but they may also feel that keeping things as grounded as possible for their children is in their best interests. There is no doubt that this family including the children are aware that they are living a life of privilege but I think they are also being made aware of how this is not the norm for most people and that there will be a sense of growing responsibilities in their futures. I think you can already see this in George. But isn’t it refreshing to see a real effort to keep everyone as grounded as possible? 🫶❤️🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

My understanding for why they chose Adelaide cottage is because it is remote and the children can play outside without the cameras always on them.

It's cold and damp inside of Windsor Castle. Some would say that it very depressing inside of the castle. Nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there.

They were going to move there to Windsor castle when the queen was there to keep her company, but since she has passed, they're changed their minds and direction it is a big place if the children were going to be home schooled that would make a good teaching environment but since their not home schooling it's way to big to just live in because you would need tons of staff and employees to get anything done because the place is huge that's where I'm at too the bigger the place the more house work that's got to be done

Windsor Castle is the official home of the Monarch, not the Prince of Wales. Prince William and family will.move to the castle when he becomes King.

@@torrisimoneaux872 Once the renovations are complete at Buckingham Palace, that's where King Charles and the queen will move to. It is the official seat of office while in London, and the other senior royals will all have suites and offices there to do their work.

When William is king, he and the family will move to Buckingham Palace. That was, and still is, the official seat of the Monarchy. The only reason it's not being used right now is because it is undergoing a massive renovation. It's an ancient building and desperately needs updating. But once it's done, Charles and Camilla will be moving in, and all the other senior royals will have offices there to work from.

Windsor Castle is owned by the Crown Estate. Which is an independent commercial business. Set up by Parliament in the 1700s. They own most of the royal palaces, castles, and jewelry etc. The royals can use them but they are not theirs. A lot of them they have to pay rent on or buy a lease.

Royalty is an anachronism. I find it unbelievable that people would line up in the streets to see two ordinary people and pay huge amounts of tax dollars to pay for dresses worth thousands. I'm British and fed up of this inequality. Having people at the top means a pecking order with people at the bottom and to me all human beings should be shown dignity and respect not just a chosen few.

Everyone needs some form of government. (Or there is anarchy and danger.) Since you volunteered that you are British, I must tell you that you cannot afford a constitutional republic. If you think that partially supporting a few people in one family, that budgets and "makes do" is expensive, try supporting 250 families or so, with duplicate offices and duplicate missions and redundant programs (each checking out the others). That is REALLY expensive and it would break the British economic system. Clearly, you have never studied the "public affairs" subsection of Political Science or you would know this. The other options of socialism, Marxism, communism, or a dictatorship are living death. In fact, your "Constitutional Monarchy" is efficient, effective and responsive and you have a wonderful history going back to 1066. There is no point in demanding perfection; that is for heaven. We mortals are human. By the way, your King Charles is excellent. Intelligent, educated, loyal, experienced, caring, sensitive, and of much better character than the Queen. You are fortunate to have him and Camilla. Then, to have William and Catherine in the wings is just excellent. Anne and her family plus Edward and his family are simply marvelous support systems to the King. Charles is working to get rid of Andrew and then just the children of Prince Philip will be working Royals. That really is key since Philip and the Queen were double cousins (both going back to Victoria and Christian IX) BUT Philip got the brains and did the Queen's thinking for her. There should be no room for interlopers like Andrew and Harry (Diana's revenge). Once those two are gone, the Royals will function like fine clocks. If you don't know why people are thrilled to see the Royals, there is no point in my trying to explain it. Your heart is too hard and you have no sense of history or tradition. Plus, you must be rich if you want a republic but many of your neighbors cannot afford it. (

Or any of their children. I suggest you READ A BOOK! (And take notes.) You have a warped ides of your "massive connection" to the Royals via your enormous tax bill. Do you have ANY idea how the Royals are funded? NO YOU DO NOT! Perhaps you might take up your complaints with your member of Parliament!!! I checked the revenue and the PER PERSON ANNUAL COST of YOUR portion of the expenses for the ENTIRE Royal family is £1.29 PLUS .77 for the core cost for a grand ANNUAL COST of £2.06 per person. So, if you are a couple, you are paying a total of £4.12. I dare say that is about the cost of an ANNUAL cup of flavored coffee. Or, a slice of pizza. Or half a sandwich. The Royals give GOOD VALUE for your 'enormous" expense, don't they?
