In this abstract flower painting tutorial, I'll guide you through my full painting process.
I'm working on a 28 by 28-inch canvas, starting off with soft pink shades and gradiently building up the colors. The design starts from the center and I'm only using one type of brushstroke starting from this center. The more I painted, to more I started to add and to see what I could do more. But looking back, I think there are numerous of stages where this painting was finished. I took a chance by pushing the design and colors further. Was it too much or just right? Very surprising endresult! Glad I went so far, because after posting it in my instagram story, it sold right away and this painting is on it's ways to Germany.

It's beautiful Rinska! Your sense of color always amazes me. What I'd really like to see you try are your gold embellishments on these. Kind of suggesting a stamens and anthers maybe?? Or even in the negative space...almost like a Japanese signature sits on a sume-i painting. And I really am still a fan of the white paint drips. I feel like it would suggest water on the flower petals.

@@RinskeDouna I agree! As a viewer, and had you not mentioned it, I wouldn’t know that several times you were trying to correct the colours you thought were too dark. And at times they were getting darker! 🙂

I really love this one. The way you painted the negative space was perfect. I would have never thought to go about it that way, using those brush strokes, and would have just filled it in with color. This piece is both delicate and vibrant! Almost a 3D look how it pops right out at you, using those techniques! ❤

Thank you so much! Yes happens quite a lot, that I just don't have the right hue or just the whole color. But sometimes you only see when it's on canvas, that it doesn't work. Yes totally you can cover that up or blend it with another color🥰

I love the off center. When you added the violet color you brought it to life beautifully. But then you spoiled it by adding that green color.
