Good morning I am 19yrs old I had cataract surgery on my right a week ago and up still now my vision isn't perfect as it were before the cataract developed Things still looks out of focus and hazy, the doctor said it's fine that I shouldn't worry about it Tho there's this large red spot on one side of my red eyes and I'm concerned if it's still the cause of the blurry vision

Please include cystoid macular edema in your list of possible complications. Its frequency, aetiology, timeline, symptoms and management. Thanks doctor!

I had the first eye done three weeks ago and it went GREAT! Clear vison immediately, no pain. Got the second eye done yesterday total opposite! Vision blurry, dark spot on side of eye, no pain though. I couldn't see the eye chart for post op visit today. Surgeon said EVERYTHING looks great in the eye, even did an ultrasound today to ease my nerves. Said it's probably a little more inflammation and it should be good in a week but I'm so nervous. I'm seeing brown haze when I close the good eye. Dr. said the purple eye medicine used during surgery could cause that. Said everything is fine. Please give ur opinion. Thanks

There was no list given to me, either. After my first eye I had awful dry eye: itching, feeling like a grain of sand was in my eye, feeling like talcum powder in my eye. I thought there was something really wrong. I went back to my dr and he just shrugged me off, saying it was normal and to use artificial tears. A couple of weeks later still bothering me. I went back to dr and he put in punctual plugs. A bit after that I had much improvement. I believe it was a combo of the tears, the plugs, and time. But I was so disappointed that I wasn’t warned and my concerns were not taken seriously, just told it was normal. Had I known what to expect it still would have been an awful experience but at least I wouldn’t have been concerned. Had my second eye done recently in a different state. I wasn’t warned then either but I knew what to expect and what to ask for. Drops, punctual plugs, and time.

Do u know why my dr (im afraid to ask him) has me taking the prednisolone eye drops until empty? I took them before for my other eye amd my rentina specialist had me taper off them but my cataract dr has me using them until theyre empty? Thanks

I don't know specifically...but different surgeries in the same patient may require different protocol. Also protocol of eye drop may vary from specific patient to specific patient.

Omg, the video cut off the last side effect and you started to say it was the most common one. What is it????
