I’m from Tamil Nadu, but I live in USA now. I am fluent in Tamil and I have Korean friends, so sometimes, I would say words and sentences in Tamil and they’ll try to guess what it means and same goes the other way. It’s really cool. The pronounciation is slightly different, but it’s basically the same. The alphabets are different, but some of the words are very similar or the same.

I got hurt when a North Indian song was played at the end when this video was supposed to be about Korean and Tamil. No hatred towards any language. It is just annoying when the social media always thinks of North India and confuses distinguished languages like Tamil with Hindi.

You got hurt when a "north Indian" song came..? bro is Tamil a different country?.. dont forget that you are able to retain your culture coz northern India was fighting all the time... but I am sure your forefathers converted to Christianity or some other cult and now you feel "proud"... what a fake existence..

Some of the other similarities between Tamils and Koreans are Food & Dishes: 1) Pongal - Yaksik 2) Oorukai - Kimchi 3) Pidi Kozhukattai - Songpyeon 4) Oputtu - Hotteok Art, Music, Games: 1) Ariro Ararariro - Arirang (Sung as lullabies for babies) 2) Kummi - Ganggangsulle 3) ila vatakal - deuldol deulgi Traditions: 1) Tamil Traditions - Korean Shamanism Traditions (Similar) 2) Manivizha - Hwangap 3) Nadukal - Koindol Women, Fashion, Beauty: 1) Pottu - yeongjigonji 2) Nethi Chutti - Jokduri 3) Poo jadai - Dodeurak Daengii Other Similarities: 1) Twin Fish Symbol (Ancient Pandiya kingdom Flag - Korea Twin Fish symbols) 2) Woman Diving Mermaids - Jeju - Rameshwaram Although these are just a few among a lot of other similarities, the two cultures and people have definitely been connected since ancient times when we look at the striking similarities which would only be possible by close ties and cultural exchanges. We need to fund more in this area of research. I suggest @KOREA NOW to investigate more into this and do a Tamil-Korean series with more followup videos.

Absolutely fascinating. My parents are from Kerala (the state right next to Tamilnadu). I always noticed that the Korean language was the only other language that used the same words for “mother” & “father” as my uniquely South Indian language.. This had me curious. I am a Tamilian living in Tamil Nadu, India. Recently I started watching k drama series.. I have also seen Tamil Korean similarities you tubes. After.watching the K dramas, i find we have lots of similar family culture, social habits, food habits etc. I am a 50 plus woman. Hence I see many similar family culture. The 2K kids may not pick them as this generation is more westernised.

Kanyakumari is once called as Ayuta Which is a district Of Tamil Nadu, located Southern most end of India .which was once ruled by a king under Pandiya daynasity who were the strongest rulers of Tamil Nadu and spreaded all over the world as well, The ruler who roled Kanyakumari under Pandiya dynasty Married her daughter Princess of Kanyakumari to the Prince from Korea, There are still some historical witness that a princess from Ayuta has a brown skin tone and came by a ship flagged with a fish emblem on it (which was the symbol of Pandiyas) and packed with wealth and golds and servents to serve on the way, Still now some Hindu gods are worshipped by Peoples of Korea...This history was forgotten by tamilians and the rights was stolen and celebrated officially by others who don't deserve it, who have behaviour of stolling the rights of others States , thought the title was with the other people officially At least I'm happy still some Tamil family and Korean relatives Still recognise the bonding😌....

So if Tamil are originator of mankind this means Vrindavan should also be in South India only. Dwarka, Badrinaath, Kedarnath, Somanath as well

And the real name of the princess is Sembavalam a Tamil name. When she was dying she insisted her children and the people should address their mother as amma .In Tamil amma means mother. When Tamils celebrate pongal Koreans also have a Similar festival on that day. It is because queen sempavalam from kanyakumari was to married to Korean king 2000 years ago...thats why there are lot of similarities between thamizh and korean...the sad thing is we thamizh people dont aware of these things and simply losing our identity....it feels very shameful for not knowing about our ancestors...and I am really happy that some of us are creating awarness among people...thanks for sharing such an wonderful history...RESPECT ALL AND ✌ ☮

Hi Friends, I was absolutely zapped, when I heard a boy of about 10 calling his Father “Appa...Appa” at the Seorakshan National Park.... At the National Agriculture Museum, near Seodaemun Metro station, saw the Traditional Tamil Rice measuring unit called “Padi - படி” in display, near the Rice field. I was very excited. Then at the Heritage village, saw the Tamil Traditional stone grinders, called “Thirugai - திருகை” and “Ammikkal - அம்மிக்கல்”... All those icons point out very long lasting Historical and cultural bonding between the Korean community and Tamil community... Trust that this bondage could be fostered further for the benefit of all...

Such stories can help, but only when there is a convergence of ideas in modern times. And increasingly now THE PEOPLE of all asian nations are looking at each other in a new light, and not just finding similarities, but also enjoying the differences. A lot of credit goes to alt media and social media like KZbin in this regard. Thanks to Korea Now for bring nations and people together in a very interesting and enjoyable way ! 🙏🏻❣
