That was really cool of the RCMP officers to allow you to fly, by chance did you launch from Brownsville Bar Park? Burnaby is running out of places to enjoy this at and am looking for options. 😕

I believe for the bridge shot, I took off at Maquabeak park that is right beside the bridge. Aside from the pitt meadow airspace (which if you have drone with geofencing, it should automatically block you from entering the area), it’s a nice place to fly. Just keep the altitude low

I have some knowledge with RF so I always planned ahead. Make sure the controller and drone has reasonable LOS (Line of sight) and don’t fly near cellular equipments that may be transmitting on the same frequency. Best to avoid flying into apartment complexes, instead go in the centre so you at least have VLOS. Also plan ahead for Return-to-home and set appropriate altitudes. I have never crashed my drone once since I purchased it :)

@@MrCkntobias I didn’t get special permission as it was low altitude and I wasn’t flying over critical infrastructure like the road. Also, I did not enter the pitt meadow airport “restricted airspace” (You can’t enter it with a DJI drone without the permission anyway, it’s geo-fenced).

No part of the Port Mann bridge is a no fly zone. RCMP don't have jurisdiction over the airspace either. Mini 2 go for it.
