Surrey named the 'next great food city' by Food and Wine magazine

The American publication, Food and Wine magazine, chose Surrey alongside six other big cities, including Venice, Marseille and Kanazawa in Japan. Lien Yeung has more on the reaction.

Surrey has a lot of great unknown restaurants but My Shanti is expensive and cannot compare to so many cheaper, family run Indian restaurants. Even with Chef Vij at the helm. Maharaja catering on 128th for example. Others to try: pho 777 in white rock. Or Afghan Chopan or any of the many Japanese restaurants like Hanaya or Sapporo.

Surrey has some great Indian Food Restaurants, as well as the speckling of Chinese, but you will need to dodge bullets to get to them. I like how Vij talks up his own restaurant and himself so much, not. This was a poorly done journalistic piece on the food scene in Surrey. Vancouver still owns as does Vancouver Island

It really interesting that this reporter did not do her job properly, Try some Chinese restaurants in Surrey the food is so bad it’s unbelievable! The taste and presentation! Also some Indian restaurants the quality is not great! Surrey will only be the best sharpen the quality of food is the best!
