I baby my ebikes, and usually ride around town and in the neighborhood to get extra riding in. Weekends I enjoy on a dirt bike. SurRon types, good bang for the buck, but I wish had better suspension. Good suspension is out there, but costs big bucks. I have a set of cr85 forks I have set aside for a crf150 project(flat tracker!!), and would love to find a conversion for a surron!! I'm so tempted to upgrade suspension , and battery, but I'll just wait for the next GREAT surron replacement(it's going to cost more). Great job getting your forks fixed, and thanks for sharing the video. In SLC, 39 deg this weekend, 48 deg next weekend, it will fell like being in Vegas :)

Yeah I'm glad I fixed them.. I really didn't wanna spend 300 bucks to get replace them with stock suspension, and yeah I really want a bigger battery.. Just don't wanna spent 3k... I'm thinking about putting a second battery on the bike somewhere...

Have tried to use CR 85 or any other dirt bike fork on Sur Ron? What’s the steering stem size. I don’t think fox40 is good enough…. Got to be dirt bike fork for riding Sur Ron off-road

@@painmad No, I have not seen parts needed to use the 85s forks on the Sur Ron, I have the complete front end, wheel, brakes, etc. even the switch to the crf150f involves welding and hopes of getting everything aligned right :( I have held off on the fox forks to, lots of $$ maybe not enough for my 240lbs. So I'm waiting to see whats next in the evolution on the SurRon, but I don't want a $12k plus 300lb bike. VR here will use his SurRon, and show durability for usually riding, great channel!!

The air piston needs to be at the top before adding oil. It’s recommended to add 55 psi to the air chamber before adding any oil. If you don’t, you’ll end up with too much oil and the fork. Then, when you do add air you end up with leaks because there’s too much pressure in the oil chamber from too much oil

That are durable, the shock is not meant for so much weight, it's a mountain bike shock designed for a 20 pound bike, so the extra 90 lbs plus my fat ass not a good combination

Any ideas has to why I have oil coming out the air valve when I try to pump it up and the fork is hard to pump up I have to pump once the pump goes hard I have to keep the pressure in the pump then something release's in the fork and it takes air but it can take 10 minute's to pump the fork up ?

If oil it's coming out of the bleeder valve , you have a leaky seal there

Great video! I'm not familiar with the guts of that shock design, nor do I really want to be, but you're doing a great service to all the other people that got suckered to buy this garbage from China. Unfortunately the China business model involves making garbage that breaks and since you weren't able to find a replacement component, most people will just have to buy a whole nother piece of crap assembly and it'll break also. Putting that screw in there was great. Did you have to tap a hole for the screw also? I presume you used some blue Loctite threadlocker on it? Did you replicate the orifice size passing through the screw so it is the same size as the previous hole that I presume was there? Hopefully you don't have some kind of fork structural failure that results in bodily harm.

Nope the hole size has nothing to do with the way the air bladder functions, there is no oil on that bottom part just set to pressure and that's it. I hope it holds remains to be seen

What weight oil did you use and was there a noticeable improvement?

I have not noticed any changes to the suspension, I used 5wt, this is a very simple suspension system compared to dirtbikes

So after this fiasco, would you recommend the fast ace forks, or the DNM Volcanos? Edit: also include RST Killahs if you know anything about them. I would want to do some decent sized jumps and take it on trails.

Dnm volcanoes are good because are stronger . The fast ace are better but they need upgraded springs ...they are too soft ...

So my brother fell off my bike and it seems to be leaking air from around the base where the shrader valve is , is that piece supposed to be sealed against the outer casting or is it supposed to have a gap around the valve tube

Not sealed oil and air can escape there , so if you see grease there it's ok, the sealed part is behind the black stick with the end piece
