Great riding and great commentary! I also just got a pair of lowered pegs and am in the process of painting them. I am surprised at your range as I can do 25 -30 pretty easily in sport mode. Did you put on a roller chain yet? I was running a 53 tooth sprocket and had my regens at 5. I just switched to a 54 and a primary chain and went from 2 throttle setting back to one. We'll see what the range is now. I also went to 3 on the engine regen with the 54. Glad to see that you love your Ultra like I do!
@itsonlyjeff10 ай бұрын
Yeah I've turned all of the regen off as well... rides kinda like a 2t now. I get about 18-20 miles on flowy single track like this but that is in 32 degree weather and with a few big climbs. You should cut those trees lower to the ground so you dont leave spikes ;)

great riding video and beautiful trails, just a suggestion when cutting the trees you should cut them at ground level because you are making what some call "pungees" that if someone were to fall on them they could be stabbed by it. Cheers and keep up the great riding!

Very nice. Shows how capable the UB is. I've been enjoying mine for the past 3-4 months and frankly my KTM 300 became my second choice for this type of riding. My mods are aimed at getting maximum benefit for the least amount of money spent. Bar risers, 100/90-19 Mitas soft enduro rear tire, putting the rear tire to the front and a 50 rear sprocket. Getting about 40 miles range riding hard enduro. Don't want to switch to 18/21 wheels because I don't want to add more weight to this bike. So far I'm extremely happy with the result.
@ElToroMoto10 ай бұрын
Are you running the stock front tire or? With the taller side profile of the 100/90-19 were there any adverse effects in terms of balance? I have a Tusk EMEX 100/90-19 and it's about 3/4 of an inch taller than the stock setup. I also put on the 80/100-19 Tusk EMEX front tire which I like. I've held off on putting on the 100/90-19 due to concerns about negatively impacting the handling of the bike so I'd appreciate your feedback. Thx.
@bingeciren10 ай бұрын
@@ElToroMoto I just took the stock rear tire, which by the way is a front tire by design, and put it on the front wheel. If you do the math, putting an 18” wheel and a suitable fatter tire on it gives you the same wheel diameter of the 100/90-19 tire. The stock rear tire of the UB, being 90/90-19 is slightly smaller in diameter wrt this rear tire but nothing noticeably significant. So in effect the geometry of the bike is not much altered. Sure the 21” front tire would be better for going over the ruts but for technical single track slow speed riding it doesn’t matter that much. It all depends on your riding style. High speed MX riding is not what I do.
@KNKLHEAD7 ай бұрын
I like "max benefit least amount" theory. I am getting UB here in a few weeks. Currently ride Light Bee single track. Regarding your tire set up: You are running 100/90-19 Mitas soft enduro rear tire (which model?) rear and moving the UB rear upfront .. Assume the 100/90-19 Mitas soft enduro rear tire is same or less height than original rear so your geometry remains correct? I also like single track and tight/technical riding best.

Nice video. So, 20 miles over moderate terrain on a single charge? VS 70 mpg on a gas bike? On very hilly coastal range trail where I would like to ride, it would be like 10 miles?
@anotherguywithaflyingcamer619310 ай бұрын
No, it actually does a lot better at lower speed. The fast flow stuff uses about double the battery on electrics. Same is true with cars, they do better in the city than on the freeway. This was also in the cold with snow still on the ground. That significantly reduces electric range unfortunately. Most people that ride off-road get around 25-30 if they are on more technical stuff.

an e bike with a small 3 speed transmission or lowered gearing to max out at like 70 kmh would be fun for single-track riding where you dont need to put down much power. a transmission or low gearing would really increase the battery life by a lot and give you more than enough low end power for even hard enduro type riding. as it stands tho currently nobody makes a cheap, good quality e dirtbike andnobody makes one with a transmission despite them badly needing them for battery life, performance, and longevity. a small transmission would allow most e dirbtikes to have up to 500 charges and still have 80 percent capacity but all the current ones only get like 100 at the very best if you do hard enduro riding. i want to see someone put a transmission on a sur ron .
