Thanks for giving us an update (in a way). Glad to see this new post. I am not so much a fan of Alone, but I like to study it. Like NnA. people think there is food galore in the jungle. It's pretty much a food desert. Until the advent of farming and animal husbandry, hunting and gathering kept the human population down. thanks again and congrats.

I don't know why so many survival experts say 3 minutes without air and relate that to breathing. It relates to bodily functions. If you have an arterial bleed that you can't stop, you will be dead in 3 minutes. It's not just breathing, it's bodily functions - maybe relates best to first aid.

Here is a long reply to your video, hope you read and reply. We are a week into the white tail deer hunting season, I don't have any deer on my plate. I also only weigh 140 pounds, 5'8" and its hard for me to gain weight. A book you may be interested in is The Land of Feast and Famine At 12:47 your picture depicts what I imagine a 200,000 year ago hunter gatherer would look like. This is where I fault the Alone producers for not showing your tea drinking and what it comprised of, thanks for the clarity. But starvation survival is not possible in the long term as in a full life long period of time. How do we justify starvation besides looking at it as short term? What is the trigger that allows us to live a hunter gatherer lifestyle.... we will have to hunt and gather with the risk of using more calories than we gained. I think to some degree technology has cured and been the problem, technology has allowed us to over harvest, say fish stock from the ocean depleting the salmon runs here in Maine, but technology has allowed us to feed the masses, yet at a cost. The lack of technology to some degree allowed our hunter gatherer ancestors to have larger stores of live game available to them. Its sad to think we had huge salmon runs here in our local coastal rivers and they are not to be seen ever again. Even our eels, a huge fat source, is now being over fished with the fishing of elvers in the spring, selling by the pound for $2000. Its a big industry and is now regulated due to over harvest. Our shrimp industry has been shut down now for the third years in a row. The cod fishing industry has also been devastated and was even cut off for the recreational fisherman who wants to catch a fish or two. We are in trouble, and at risk of real starvation, we are depleting our natural resources on a mega scale. And most don't have a clue. Breathable boots, for sure, Muck boots have to be the worst thing going. I'm off sugar totally now. I found it was causing binging on junk foods and was being inflicted with arthritic conditions at 50 years old, much better now after a year off sugar. Your dreaming seems health and normal.

Yes, as mentioned in the talk, we obviously can't starve indefinitely. The point is that there are good times and bad times during the year, when it comes to being a hunter gatherer. You make some really good points. As far as muck boots, they're actually a favorite for alone participants. As long as you can dry your socks out every night they're great

@@SamuelLarsonAdventures I am about to get a new pair of Steger mukluks, In addition I use a system similar to Tim Smith, the rubber over shoe with felt liners for wet and mud, the liners come out easily and can dry well. I've had muck boots and found to be way to damp and hard to dry.

@@downeastprimitiveskills7688 Very tempted to get some stegers! The tingley and wool liner method is very solid. The reason muck boots work on alone is because its a stationary situation. You're essentially at your base camp every day, so it becomes easy to keep your things warm and dry if you prioritize that
