Dutch kicked the gun out of Anna's hand because the fact she hadn't shown she could fight back is the ONLY reason the Predator wasn't killing her. If she'd fired, the Predator would've recognized her as prey.

It's hard to see the first time, but when the Predator shot at Arnie the first time, he shot to disarm, not to kill. The Predator takes them out according to their skill and weaponry. The guy with the biggest gun or the weakest ones get taken out clean and fast with no chance. Arnie showed promise, so he only disarmed him and in the end, he earned himself a one on one without weapons. The first half of the movie was to show us that Dutch and his men are the best of the best and then we see how outclassed they were. The Special Forces guys he judged so weak he just skinned them, but left them their skulls. Dutch and his men? Even the weakest of them the Predator judged to be good prey and worthy to become trophies. Today they would just say someone is the best but rarely show us. At least not in comparison to normal people. Usually these days the best are sent against the other best from the beginning.

When the predator shot at Dutch with his plasma cannon it hit his gun and destroyed it . That’s why he didn’t have the gun afterwards. The plasma cannon mainly hit the gun , that’s how he survived it …

Toward the end of the movie when Arnold kicked the gun out of her hands and said "noooo!" he didn't want her to get shot and it's because at that point he knew the predator fought based on "weapon to weapon" combat or "hand on hand" combat. sort of a code of honor when battling. When the predator shoots Arnold, Arnold didn't die because the laser shot hit his gun and only grazed the side of his body as you can see he was bleeding still.

A lot of ppl think that Mac's whole head was shot off, but it was the back of his head that was blown out (exit wound), you can tell when the Predator is admiring his collection, you can see the hole in the front of the skull (entry wound) where he shot him

I was 11 when this came out and I must have watched it at least 20 times back then. I was fascinated with the Predator and thought it was just "Sooo cool!".(cut me a break it was the 80s) I also want to point out that Pita (or however you spell it) from Hunger Games totally stole Dutch's moves!

The first blast at Dutch Hit his gun first and the thickest part of the gun that is why it didn't kill him. where everyone else was hit directly in the body. If you liked the Predator idea I would love to see you watch -Prey- It is the newest in the franchise. you don't need to have watched others to understand it. because it is set up more like a Prequel.

great reaction! bigger snakes, spiders, etc. are not as poisonous if at all. why? they don't need to be. they use brute strength to take out their prey. smaller ones are more poisonous because they can't just brute strength their prey to death. thus a rattle snake is poisonous and an anaconda is not.
