the "grenade launcher" is actually a spud shotgun, as seen in other shots, and it also has fries coming out the side when you shoot it, the explosion was from the haybot

Yeah, it shoots two potatoes that hit the front of the barrel that has mesh on it so they spread apart, making it act like a shotgun

The big red bot was the original design farmbot for scrap mechanic if you look at the debut trailer edit: the electric whip on the tote bots might have been a cable connecting to buildings, farmbots, or vehicles. i think this because a tote is a kind of bag so it would make sense that it would store/pickup things
