A manhwa is a webcomic (panels are meant for screen format and are in a continuous strip meant for scrolling) from Korea. Webtoon is an app where a lot of webcomics are published (manhwas and other series as well). ORV is both a manhwa (a Korean manga) and a webtoon (it is free to read on the Webtoon app)👍

One interesting thing about the deities in this series is that the authors, who by the way are a married couple, have studied all the mythologies and theologies of the world for good and for evil, so yes there are evil mythological gods and demons of all religions in between, no It's just the gods and angels giving contracts to people throughout the series' history

@@DirectorNasty yes, due to the power system being stories any being that has a strong enough story can be a constellation (deity) even real historical people, if you pray you can receive power from a god, evil god, demon, or even a Historical figure like Hercules, Columbus or even Einstein, it all depends on whether the 'divinity' likes you and your personality. This is the logic of the series' power system either you make a contract and act on someone's story or you become strong alone and build your own story

Movie would probably arrive before anime for this. It's been announced they finished filming and rumors say it's trilogy, of course it's with KR's famous actors and actresses. Novel stayed no.1 in munpia for 3 years (premier site for novels) and only faded because it finished. Signed a movie contract even before manhwa adaptation was up and one particular ship between characters became famous just behind BTS. It's a baffling occurrence but it just proves that it reaches farther than what normal fiction novel would do.

Man I love this manhwa sooooo much!!! It’s one of my favorite stories ever with so many twists and turns and wild ideas in every arc. I like how you mentioned that there’s a bland MC, but it isn’t the MC we follow lol. The idea of having two MCs who are the MCs of their own respective stories, but have to interact with each other really drew me into this series and man did they deliver! Dokja (the MC) and Junghyeok (the MC of the novel Dokja read) are two fantastically written characters. Junghyeok may seem bland at first, following all your typical overpowered protagonist tropes, but he is a bottomless pit of depth. The further you get into the story, the more you start to realize just how much care went into crafting the nuance in his character and his development is so well done. Dokja is very similar in the sense that he comes off as a “just like me fr” character in the beginning, but as the story progresses, you see his strengths start the blossom as well as his weaknesses in full display. And these are just two out of the incredible cast of characters that this story has. Alright, enough gushing about my favorite series lol. Would highly recommend giving it a read🔥

Im not entirely sure, but i think the reason he is perceived as ugly is because of the 4th wall. He isn’t a part of the world so people of the story cant really view what he really looks like. Or something like that

Oddly enough, the twitch stream death game for the constellations thing is yet another trope that Korean light novels, manhwa, and WEBTOONs have lots of samples for. I can think of 5-6 off the top of my head.

SSS Revival Hunter and Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint was my two GOATs that filled up the void after i finished reading the final volume of Mushoku Tensei. im still not done with Omniscient Reader, but SSS Hunter's ending and last 10 chapters was super satisfying af. and yes he isnt joking, as of the current webtoon chapter, we still aint in the big arcs of ORV. Difference between Webtoon and Manwha. Manwha - more like Korean Manga, serialized into paper books and like that. (example is The Breaker) Webtoon - more commonly read in the internet, it is always in Long Strip mode as Scrolling Down is more convenient when reading on phones.

As the previous one said, check Lord of the Mysteries, I haven't seen anyone say bad thing about it just because it's objectively good. Another is Second Coming of Gluttony (not to be confused with JP Berserk of Gluttony). It gets very dark when it's dark but can also get very funny when it's funny. The relationships between characters there is reminiscent of ORV's. Just superb writing and fantastic story telling. Very sad that the manhwa adaptation took all the bland things about the series and discarded it's very essence, which is about an individuals connection to others.

3:57 Yeah, the Death's Game K-Drama was originally a Webtoon! Over-arching plot is pretty much that same (MC dies over and over again in different bodies) but the story beats (i.e. the people the MC reincarnates into) are veryyy different iirc. I wouldn't really recommend reading the Webtoon though, mostly because the app has this system where finished stories like Death's Game can only be read one chapter per day which is a massive pain imo, plus the K-Drama's the better version of the story anyway.
