The Rex pair are the players I wish i would fight. Whenever I fight a rex pair with a Shant (On River Den mostly, where you have to peel off after 3 bites) I got clapped hard. The Rex players insane there. I never won a 1v2 fight with a Shant againts a Rex duo. Glad to see someone had the luck and the skill enough to beat it even with 1st bite breaking leg.

Aww sorry to hear that, although I think that the bite limit is actually making it much much harder for Shant to beat a Rex pair. Shant needs to get in as much damage as possible, or a kill, before their stamina runs out. By limiting the bites, it makes so many matchups impossible. :') Definitely try out a bite-limit-free server like New Beginnings sometime and you'll definitely kill your first Rex pair someday. If you set your post-processing to "low" in your settings, it should fix that issue where your screen goes stupid dark when you look down at night time.

@@William_Verdun nah this became a thing whenever they did that one update to the lighting to stop gamma from working. Only way I know for sure works to get rid of it is change post-processing to low.

Some dinosaurs bite downwards and by looking up you will aim your bite/damage hitbox upwards at things like tails which would be above you and also to try and aim for a snipe. You don’t need to look up with Shant since it already hits upwards, but I do it out of habit. Also welcome to the Isle!

Does New Beginnings allow nod bites as I wanna use them but just afraid if its against the rules?

Nod biting doesn't do anything (like the myth of doing x2 or x3 damage), it just raises/angles your camera up/to the side to hit things like tails and flanks. On New Beginnings they realize that and do allow you to angle your camera sometimes dubbed "nod biting". You are allowed to shake your camera around as much as you want on NB.

When I fight a Rex on shant, he leg breaks me, goes behind me crouch and while crouched rides me and I can't damage it being under me. Btw, you can ride one rex if your leg is not broken and when he's out of stamina at some place, at the same place you will still have like 2/5 of stamina :D

Mhmmm! Rex can ride leg broken Shant but Shant does have a counter to this using snipes, precise brakechecks, predictions, and shift tapping. It takes a lot of practice but once you understand how to do it, even a good Rex can still die while trying to ride you if you know how to counter them. Only when you get first bite LB against a good Rex is it normally GG. Never give up. :) Ooooo, thank you for sharing this knowledge with me!

@@whipper917 I won't argue Rex is op with its legbreak, but with shant being able to 1 shot Rex? Definitely more op, as well as being faster than a giga. Spino I'll grant as well cause fighting a spino as any non apex is pretty difficult, and even with an apex nowhere near a guaranteed win. But shants can body rex and giga like it's nothing.

why does shant stomp sometimes 1 shot and someztimes not ?

Sometimes Shant stomps 1-shot when multiple hitboxes are hit, the rex bites and its hitbox is hit, or its snipe hitbox and regular hitbox are hit. So technically it isn't a pure "1-shot" but its just multiple hitboxes being damaged.

Yea so if a dino is moving whiling running through shant when it stomps said dino will get hit twice and did unless it can tank it

Hahaha yup, a lot of Rexes can get cocky. I’d say that Shant, Dilo, and Utah are some of the best dinos at killing Rexes. :> I’m so glad you were able to learn something new!

i dont play much legacy, why do you keep flicking the camera straight up? Does it effect the attack angle or something?

The camera angle matters for most dinosaurs. On Shant you do not need to since it's hitbox naturally hits upwards, but I do it out of habit. To hit a snipe and also to try and extend my hitboxes reach towards things that may be above me, like the rex's tails. If I were to look straight down and hit, I might not hit the tail like I would if I hit and look upwards. Hope this helps!

First fight rex gets stuck on tree right in front of you like 20ft and u turn away and face the other rex that is 100ft sway. Git gud kyd.

LMAO, mate if I hard aggro'd on the Rex that got stuck on a tree, the other Rex could come up and begin to ride or get a ton of free hits on me. Rex gets unstuck from trees really quickly too, at max I'd get 3-4 hits while the other Rex that was further away could enter and get like 5-8 bites. With legbreak as Shant I can only turn so fast. In order to control the fight I need to constantly be removing windows for them to enter in and get free hits. It's all about pressure and changing the positioning of my weak spots. :>

Yupppp, if the Rexes knew how to ride Shant when I got first bite legbreak I would have lost. Only way to beat a good Rex pair is to not get legbreak before one dies.
