Council tools make a great axe. I've had the boy's axe for many years. We use it to chop small logs and kindling at our camp. Everyone who goes there loves that little axe.I've never checked the balance and rotation on it though. but it holds an edge for a good while.👍

If you use axes and hatchets pretty regularly you will be sharpening them often and I expect to sharpen a new one before I use it. I just don't want to be forced to grind away a bunch of steel because the profile is way too thick.

Nice little axe. I built a throwing target for family gatherings, and there is NO WAY I would let most people throw a sweet tool like that! I have chinese choppers for them...

I think the Axe Gang is a great throwing axe, although met the specifications to be used in official competitions. And it's under $30 right now on Amazon. amzn.to/4cp5w7Q But it is not really designed to be used around camp as a tool, it's really more of a dedicated thrower.
