Yes it is. The problem is version 1.0 of anything is super expensive. I clicked the crowd funding link to see what I could see. these are going to go for around $4K and up depending on what model you get. What I really want to see is tech like this become so common that $1200 will get me a base battery and one extender.

Cool setup. It would be perfect if you could somehow connect the tow vehicle to charge the Zendure modules while you're driving. You can!! Buy a F150 PowerBoost or at least with Pro Power Onboard !!! Hahaha. I had a PowerBoost with 7.2 KW, but once several of my friends bought similar trucks, I didn’t find I needed all the energy and I liked the F150 Tremor more, so upgraded to a F150 Tremor with Pro Power Onboard. It powers my truck camper with surplus energy, if the truck has to start, it does so automatically and is much quieter than the “quiet” generators are. Even though I don’t use the water system in the camper (it’s not a 4 season camper) I still camp well into the winter!! Electric heat &/or propane heat, all there for ya!! Of course the truck cost a bit more than this generator!! Hahaha. The option cost for the 2.0 KW Pro Power Onboard was only $1300 Canadian. Less than 1/3 the cost of this generator they have in the video. ($5257 CAD as per the kickstart)

These are great for those that aren’t so handy. The top model is actually about 200 AH as far as a battery goes. Pretty big and they don’t need to be trickle charged. You can throw the amps at them and they DO charge quickly. The packs are not crazy priced, now that the link shows the discounts, but the solar panels are d*mned expensive. Solar does charge them up quickly and keep them there though. There are features that even a handy guy would have troubles replicating for a similar price, but I have built my own systems with 175 watts solar and 240 ah minus the 4G for similar $$$ in Canadian dollars. Think 36% less than the completed unit. I don’t say this to put them down, just to be more detailed. A 200 ah unit and one solar panel will be a lot of power for most uses especially camping. You won’t run Air Conditioning for very long though. That’s where gas generators excel. I don’t like the gas generators though because they really are not that quiet!! Especially if someone has their AC going in an RV, because they require the generator to run full out all the time, thus being louder all the time. I don’t go camping to listen to that racket. EDIT: The unit they are using here is not yet available and is going to be available “if” the kickstarter gets about $13 million dollars. The unit they have here will cost thousands. The unit I was describing, talking about I’d the biggest unit they currently have for sale. Barring some fanatical backer, they will never reach their goal by November 19, 2022. They are only 1/2 way there now. I’m not a fan of any of these Kickstart style of schemes. Really, only one person profits from them,,,,,, and it’s not you.

Cool to see the Caboose again. As for which form of power you have to drag along, it is limited use. The solar power panels are exactly what you need to make all that useful. (provided you live someplace where you can get sun everyday) This product when not on sale for the top of the line unit with solar panels is about 4100 bucks. Again, limited helpfulness. For 4100 bucks you can get a reasonable natural gas generator to take care of your important needs and it is there 24/7 whether the power grid is off for a day or months. In winter time, only the sunny states benefit from the solar paneled electric option. I have cloud cover 24/7 during the winter. When the storms knock out the power, this product is useful for what 6-12 hours? Then I am back to SOL. I won't be spending that much on a product with such limited usefulness. 😉

120 pounds and MAYBE you could run your electric heater all night (yes, we know electric heaters arent as efficient as propane or diesel). OR make 9 Pizzas? OR make it 20 miles in your EV hummer? It has good overall capacity and the Fast Charger capability could come in handy for the right person who travels heavy (then again, if tha5sbthe case you can just build your own battery system), but it's just not a contender for campers/overlanders/off-roaders. I'll stick with my Jackery 1000 and run a 12v fridge and a diesel heater till the cows come home. Anyway, the caboose is a cool project.

As an RV’er (42’ motorcoach) who boondocks a lot, this makes ZERO sense. As a homeowner with a whole house natural gas generator, this makes ZERO sense. As a homeowner with solar, using this vs even a Powerwall makes ZERO sense.

I wouldn’t exactly call it “special, first ever mobile battery system.” There are plenty of other brands with mobile battery systems out there. Ecoflow, Bluetti, etc.
