Surviving 17 years in California's toughest Prisons - Nate - Fresh Out Interviews

Fresh Out

Fresh Out

7 жыл бұрын

Big Herc went up to Sacramento to interview a former member of the Del Paso Heights Bloods, a rival gang to North Highlands Crips. Nate also known as Nate Dog, was once one of the most vicious "active" members in Prison. Often the first to volunteer to put in work whenever it was called for. As the time passed and his release date coming near he made the decision to leave the gang life behind while incarcerated. He served 18 years in the California State Prison System and is now out helping ex cons get back on their feet post release.

this is such a good interview because as you can see, Big Herc keeps his mouth closed and his ears open. He allows the man freedom to fully express himself without unneccesarry interruption. A lot of so called professional interviewers have wack interviews because they talk over their guests. Big shout out to Big Herc and Nate Dog from the U.K

@Classes S is killing the only bad outcome though? He's a black kid rolling with a white kid in an openly racist community and in general a racist era. The white friend maybe would've been beaten into a coma, paralyzed, disfigured, brain damaged etc. Not to mention, what do you think was bound to happen when the man was finished with the white kid? If he's so deep in his hatred toward blacks that he would attack white people who have black friends, then for sure he was going to beat the crap out of Nate afterwards.

"extremely intelligent" I'm not sure if we watched the same video. if you want someone who is genuinely intelligent, look at big herc, he's been to the bottom, he fought himself out of the prison, enlightened himself, turned his misfortunes into profit and now he's living a good life and making other people's lives better. He didn't fuck around to lengthen his time and immediately started to improve himself when he went to prison. Didn't get the feeling that this dude even wanted to get out, he'll be back in the system eventually.

@John MacTavish you know what i halfway agree with you but like everything there is a caveat to that I believe if you are family or you witness the ACT or the victim comes to you like right after it happens or a within a short amount of time then I believe you have the right to take just about whatever actions you didn't necessary because then it's basically defending A- week and sometimes helpless person cuz honestly if you witness someone being attacked would you not take vigilante justice? Personally if someone in my family was victimized I would physically attack with the intention to Mame, not kill the person who committed the act as well as anyone else involved not to mention anyone else who might try to defend that person. But I also would contact the authorities I just noticed that many times the authorities drag their feet or are not as not as full on arresting and or adjudicating perpetrators depending on certain racial and or social economics determiners so sometimes you have to become a vigilante if you expect any sort of just outcome. So while I agree with you to an extent it's never just black and white when it comes to things like this especially in today's moral and political climates

@@DatruthBtoldy-do6bl shut the fuck up you wannabe Ayn rand. Everything is black and white to you huh? No grays? How about you try being born in his exact scenario. No father figures to instill fear of going on the wrong path in you, so what do most without a father turn to? Cultures. What is the closest culture to him? Gang culture. Whoopsies, seems we just made a gangsta. All you idiots think it's as simple as, lemme join a gang, but theres si many more forces at play. What he sees everyday, the success he sees are all drug dealers and gang bangers, so what reason does he have to believe that that isnt tbe most effeciant way to make money? And that incident he had as a child most definitely shaped his conciousness differently. Imagine getting in serious trouble for protecting your friend. He was 12 he didnt understand what he was doing and yet, boom big trouble. Those type of things lay the seed of distrust of the government and other authority figures. All it takes is one faulty sentence and you've ruined that person's outlook on the law forever. There are many invisible variables someone like you would never take the time to see

Brian Mccormick I’m from Rhode Island but caught my bid in New York. My state has no country jails and then minimum, medium, and max and that’s it for the entire state. There wasn’t a whole lot of racial tension when I was there and they still let you buy cigarettes from commissary and I got out in 2013. My advice to anyone is keep your nose clean when you get out. I found Narcotics Anonymous and by the grace of God I have managed to keep my freedom. Find something productive, I know the meetings don’t work for everyone but for i never had friends that weren’t either drug users or dealers and I need to be away from that shit to keep my freedom.
