Well Hafu - what can I say? I started in TKD in my late 20's. Got to red belt but quit because I started a family (hard to spar when you're 5 months pregnant). Now my 1st child is almost 18 and I'm almost 50. I WISH everyday I had gone back to TKD or at least kept training at home and keeping up my skills. Now skills I could do without any effort is a struggle. All that muscle memory is gone. You are still very young and I can tell you have a lot of potential and natural ability. Please don't expect to be like your Shoalin master who started at age 10. You will never catch up and if you do, it won't happen overnight. But you can start where you are and still build considerable skill. Your master is very strict and stern. I can tell he expects a grown man to have the the natural abilities, flexibility, stamina of a young boy. Keep at it until it all starts to come together. I am back at martial arts after all this time. I missed it so much and now I have major limitations but I'm not going to let it stop me and I hope not to quit anytime soon. Good luck

You are not losing anything... you are just not gaining more. That said.. its not about how much you learn and know. What matters far more.. is how much you have fully Mastered. For example... if you were to punch someone... and the laughed at you, because your power was weak.. vs .. if you could easily KO any fighter, from a fraction worth of your maximum potentials. Ive had three different teachers from the same art. Every time I would get so far into training... they would move out of state. Every time that I started a new school... the teachers would ALWAYS make me start from the very beginning.. even though I knew a lot more.. because they wanted to make sure that I didnt miss any of the potential differences. In the years between these different schools, I was practicing everything that I had learned... fully mastering each and every thing, on my own. For a while, I really was upset about having to keep starting from the bottom.. but in the end.. it turned out for the better. Why? Because I had trained in the Root foundations for so long... that I fully mastered it all. Unlike many others whom learned more... but... were very poor in all of it. I was able to take my solid foundation, and make work 1000x better. It also then became easier to add new things on top of this solid base. Its like if you tried to build your house on swamp-land. Eventually, its unstable ground would cause it to sink, and eventually, self destruct. So.. whatever you do that you have weaknesses within... focus on them, and work hard on fully mastering these things... one by one. There is no reason to be Idle. And there is no need to learn more.. when you still have not fully mastered what you already have.

There is stretching, there is strength training and there is combat training. He taught you strength training. In under (4) hours, I can train you to beat up Black belts from most styles. I am a Kung Fu San Soo Master and it is the true fighting style of Shaolin. Bring a friend.

@@asmatullah5856 I think nowadays the dojo we see now are more a fraudulent version than years ago. I've seen them scam little innocent kids thinking the bizarre techniques they do and then they get bullied at the next day and with bruises when they come back for the next lesson. I am self taught and I train muay thai so to stay in shape and improve my health further. Belts dont mean anything but how much experience in a martial art you train.
