When you're in the hood, everything is different than your standard society rules and regulations. You're constantly being shot at, and you're forced to involved with a gang because that's how you survive in that environment. Most of the time your parents are too busy trying to put food on the table for their family, which is why you'll often see teenagers get involved with a gang to protect themselves. As much as a gang may sound bad, they do provide one thing: protection for their boys and they look out for each other. Because if you're alone, the chances are you won't make it alive out there in the hood.

The highschool I went to we actually had a daycare and most of the mothers were about 16 or so meaning they’d had the kid at 14. I knew one girl who was pregnant with her 4th and I believe she was a senior and I was just like “girl have you heard of birth control tho” 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ most of them were generally pretty proud and you could tell that life had certainly smacked them in the face but they realized they didn’t have any other choice but to follow through with their decision
