Well, they never have wishes to go to the toilet, take a bath/shower, or go to sleep, so without free will on, they will definitely be miserable all the time. They do sometimes have wishes to eat a certain food, but they need to already have eaten that food at an earlier point for it to appear. Fun is probably the easiest to fulfill as long as the Sim has at least one hobby. Social should be the second easiest. Overall, though, I don’t think they would survive for long… 😬

@@Virumyu They would... with grilled cheese aspiration as the secondary one! It prompts wishes to serve and eat grilled cheese sandwitches, thus, hunger is taken care of. Rest of the needs won't kill in sims 2, so...

EA didn't add any new wants and fears from the missing packs and stopped developing whims really early on so there's not very many beyond the base game + high school years. If there were more of them it might be more chaotic.

My adhd fixation during lock down was to finish all aspirations. I did most of them and got all rewards and my Sim never needed to eat or sleep etc and she kept winning heaps of simoleons and is rich now lol

I've found a lot of chaos via wants/fears, but my Sims were already developed and had relationships/aspirations/careers etc. I think the system works well and is fun when applied to Sims that have other life stuff going on! One of my Sims has started an affair with her brother in law (sisters husband)... And then her wife also started flirting with the brother in law as well!

This would have been much more chaotic with the old whims system. With the wants and fears they dramatically reduced the list of wants a sim can get. It's all based on your sim's traits, and it's almost all basegame. With the whim's system you would get whims to buy a pool, or a tv, or a bed (if you didn't have a bed). You'd get whims to do things like cry (if your sim is sad) or use a punching bag (if your sim is angry), or visit specific lots depending you your sim's mood. There were pack specific whims, like with seasons you could get whims to play in the rain, or buy a bee box. With dine out, if your sim has the culinary aspiration, you could get a whim to buy a chef station or lean an experimental recipe. All of that is gone now. It is extremely repetitive. Dismissing the "buy a bee box" whim 3 times a day for the whole of Spring was also repetitive, but overall I preferred the whims system.

Great challenge idea! It would def be harder with a human sim since they have to eat and sleep, and might pee themselves/die of embarrassment lol. And you could try one of the harder aspirations? Comparing it with the earlier games would be fun too!

I'd have given them a shell house because there is never a whim for walls, floors, doors or roofs. This is not a criticism. This is just what I would have done differently. Also I find it hilarious that you got a vampire with the beach life aspiration 🤣. If you had done the aspiration stuff your sim would have definitely died. Lol!

Sims 4 vampires can actually die from thirst and they don’t technically need to sleep, and since they can’t go piss girl they can’t wet themselves. So playing with a vampire made this WAY easier, it you used a regular sim it would be way more chaotic

Icl I hate the new whims so much, they make everything so difficult to do because my sims are constantly sad or afraid of not “achieving their dreams”, it means I’m not really in control of the game and makes it difficult to progress in anything (university is a nightmare). It was a cool idea but it’s just annoying now and I wish you could opt out of it

You can turn off wants & fears in the game play settings - however, they pop back up every time you load your game/household so you have to turn them on and off again

the wants and fears thing seems to be broken, at least for me. i keep disabling it, and every time i go to cas or build mode, and then go back into the game, the damn thing is back, but i go to settings and it's disabled...i turn it on, turn it off again, and it's gone, until the next time i open cas or build mode. really annoying because i don't care about those dumb whim thought bubbles over the sims' heads

I think what you really proved is that wants/fears as they're currently implemented are too repetitive. Also, I don't think the hunger-filling traits/potions even work on vampires? I'm not sure. . .hmmm. Good thing that any vampire without "Tamed Thirst" will just automatically attack Sims to eat, huh?

I feel like after the change/update to the wants and fears, the sims have a lot more basic needs wants. I've had a lot more "get food" and "take a bath" pop up than before. Especially when they are going into the red. Or so it seems.

I love how the results of the Sim test ended up with Plumbella playing the random vampire who visits Sim houses, just not always at night, lookin' for shelter during the day... and for some reason everyone else is so trusting and lets her in even after she's been bitchy to them! 😂 It's a shame they got rid of the whims so there's way less variety now. That part sucks because I would've loved to see if you could build a house this way but I don't think you can anymore.

I just ate soup, the packet said spicy. I did not believe it. I ate some of the soup. It sucks. Then the burn started. I have never felt such a burn. My breath in my nose burned. I rushed to the sink and tried to rinse my mouth. This made it worse. I brushed my teeth. Now my gums are burning and tears are running down my face. I grabbed listerine in desperation. The second mistake. I fall to the ground clutching the basin like a drowning man as waves of burning pain intensifies in my tongue. I half hope for a swift death. _"debate captains" is a difficult want for a sim to have because, to my knowledge, this is an action that can either be done at _*_geek con_*_ or only with other sims who are geeks._ _kinda like having a sim who loves music constantly rolling the want to listen to music.. on an off-the-grid lot with neither the money or power._ You're just gonna have to think of me as a dream crusher because even if we did have the radio you couldn't turn it on and listening to your favorite music with earbuds doesn't satisfy the want for some friggin' reason.
