17:18 in regards to the chicken a baby zombie could have been on it but later burned up in the sunlight. So the chicken would technically count as a non passive mob and it wouldn't even lay eggs so you would have to find another chicken jocky in order to breed them.

@@giorgospapoutsakis5271 you know i dont expect people to be experts on SRP but i think its very clear he barely knows much of the mod you dont just go into the mod known for ending many worlds without atleast abit of research like the fact mans keeped trying to kill the warden even though it adapted. or how he kinda just isnt aggressive enough like he could of killed the beckon stage ones or the host with ease [you dont NEED lava for them either that confused me] hell he even almost killed the host but he started panicking for whatever reason even though he still had hearts. building a nice looking base vs a obsidian one is going to result in giant chucks of your base being gone which is what exactly happened. mind you even though i like SRP i wish someone would make a balance mod for it and i dont think they should beable to break blocks atleast not instantly that is.

ok so im watching the warden fight at the end, and realising that Wrld doesn't know about Scape and Run's adaptive defense mechanic (i dont know if that's what it's called) basically, using the same weapon type on an enemy for too long allows that enemy to develop defenses to that specific weapon type, which is a real problem for big-health enemies because they're basically guaranteed to develop an immunity to your primary weapon before you can kill them, as signified by them flashing purple instead of green when they get hit, so that warden stopped taking damage before Wrld ran out of fuel canisters, and he would've had to hit it with something else, like his scythe, until it had to readapt to the different weapon type

It’s called adaptation and most parasites besides unborn assimilated and feral can adapt to dmg types the speed can be increased by colonies and can be reset by hitting weak points and fire or lava

@ also just really needs more mods but not to many that you can just become to op and make the game just a killing simulator you still need the fear of death and can never let your guard down but still work towards better gear without feeling to op also the new update made is so you hit phase 7 in about 25 Minecraft days it used to take about 400 days in my old world I added a few to many mods and became a little op such as flight and instantly healed to full heath if I did dmg and had 4 rows of hearts and armor bars probably would have been better if it was in new update where the mod is a lot harder overall conclusion needs to make public server on live stream where like 20 people can join

The mod pack might be susceptible to what Goose wisely called the vanilla blindspot: lava is not difficult to source in large-ish quantities, and already slows and kills most vanilla mobs. A lava moat and aggressive lava traps might be a more viable solution.

I have yet to see a 'invasion' or 'horde' style mod that _doesn't_ account for this, and Scape and Run is no exception. In fact, if I recall correctly that mod's mobs are _specifically_ balanced around the player making the surrounding terrain a lava-filled hellscape.

the lava trick only works on beckons stage one to maybe two. once they get to three or beyond you can leave them sitting in lava I could've sworn scape and run stripped enemies adapted defences when they're on fire, but after countless hours I have yet to notice anything taking away adapted defences other than just having multiple weapons. Fire isn't useable beyond primitive parasites ... nothing is but the top gun mods ... I personally opened up TechGuns and raised the damage of most of the late game guns, because late stage beckons can eat like 5 shots in a row that do like 30 damage each and just chill completely fine

I tried infecting the nether with this mod. seeing the big guys just casually swimming in lava every time i glanced downward was unsettling. The smaller ones die and a good portion of the big guys too but the pre-eminents do well even without colony buffs. (colony buffs give speed, invis and fire resistance potion effects permanently to all parasites) TLDR: static lava hazards great until later infection stages (assuming you yourself have fire res)

I tried scape and run with hardcore darkness (removes the minimum light level). It honestly makes it impossible to play. The darkness is fine, but it stops you from being aggressive enough in getting resources.

You have to put the chicken in a boat, give it a name tag, or feed it to make sure it doesn’t despawn. You also would probably need a second chicken to breed because it likely spawned as a baby zombie jocky and the baby died, meaning it wouldn’t lay eggs

maker of this mod even said the mobs are supposed to be OP because you have to play with OP mods. Had a fullset of Reinforced Netherite armor, that gave me 32 armor and 16 toughness with prot 4 and was getting oneshot by some of the mobs in stage 5.

There are two main reasons why things got out of hand fast. The first one is that you were sleeping, don’t do that. Second, you didn’t check the caves so a beckon grew out of control.

I'm 100% sure that the parasite mobs especially the primitive and adapted mobs can get immune to certain attack and damage types. TLDR: the parasites can get immune to fire.

Fire is the one thing they're not supposed to adapt to. Edit: sorry they can adapt to fire but they still get all negative effects and it slows down their adaptation to other damage types. So light them on fire and start hitting them with something else.

i remember playing a mod back in the early early days of minecraft. maybe 14-15 years ago, where there was some kind of purple slime. it spread over the land if left unchecked and created spore towers slowy just changing the whole world. that was pretty fun but no idea what it was called.

I just google everything before I try it lol. According to official pages, passive mobs won't despawn IF they are "unable to move 20 blocks in any direction". I have 30 chickens in a 2x2 pen in my base and they never despawn since they can't move around anywhere, my chickens used to always despawn if I kept them in a large pen area, but not anymore when I give them no room. You can also name tag thingd, but that's expensive since you have to get uncraftable name tags. But limiting space is supposed to keep them from despawning even when you leave the area. That's just what I've read when trying to figure it out myself, but it seems accurate because my cramped chickens don't despawn when I leave my base chunk.

about the chicken despawning: it was probably a a chicken left after the chicken riding zombie, so the game counted it as hostile mob, hence the despawning....

Honestly I'd recommend playing on easy, non hardcore, with keepinventory on Whether you want to disable mob griefing is up to you But this makes the mod far more fun, yet still as difficult (once phase 6-8 starts, it becomes about as difficult as in this video, even with all the settings)

I think that one should start with a base made out of unbreakable blocks and surrounding it with lots of lava (even the walls) making it inaccessible even from underground. Build a farm inside the base (with animals) and that’s kind of it hihi

The thing is, the mod is optimized for people who could dominate earlier versions. Literally. The default config options are not made to be survived by mere mortals so I would look at some other configs or lowering every enemies strength to 1/4th of what it is. You should try the fungal infection spore mod, its more balanced and you can debuff the parasites by living in a snowy biome (they get permanent weakness and slowness in snowy biomes)
