Chels did freaking amazing. It’s completely okay to take your time and not rush it. Hikers come in all shapes and sizes and physical abilities. I’m a weekend hiker and I am terrified of heights but I do it to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. I’m sure so would of cried several times going down some of those ladders and slopes 🤣

Love to see you two do a camping or small hiking trip with Coop and Koda. Nothing like what you two did in this trip! Tevas are awesome! They're super rugged and meant for hiking, we loved 'em

Those are sandals specifically made for hiking. It's better to hike in those rather than have soaking wet sneakers or hiking boots with all the river crossings they had to do.

Hiking boots and good gloves are a must. Along with sun screen,bug spray and safety glasses.

The sandals are made for hiking on flat land, the boots are better for more advanced hiking.... Such as the sketchy cliffs and ladders and wildlife they might encounter in that area. Could always have the sandals with you, but protecting your feet is a must.

You guys are so brave for taking that hike! Great job! I doubt I could do that. It's a good thing you all got that done just before the deadline heat wave as of the final week of July 2023. Oh, I thought there would be more than 2 vids, but it looked like an awesome trip. So glad you both enjoyed bc would love to see more. Death Valley is close to Vegas too. There’s lodging in the park as well and a tour company where you can rent Jeeps for off roading to explore diff landscapes in the park or have a tour guide take you out. There’s a fancy lodge and a casual one w/spring filled pools, horseback riding, a golf course, and restaurants. March and April are popular months when the wildflowers are in bloom all over the park. It’s beautiful.

I was lucky to have rafted the Grand Canyon in 1991. We did a very short hike from the main river to Beaver Falls and enjoyed the beauty for about 4 hrs. No sketchy ladders to climb. Great job guys!

Next trip...get some trekking poles. I was never a believer until I used them. They take a good amount of pressure off your legs and knees. I've got bad knees and they are a lifesaver for longer treks.
