I have a question. Like everything, after you do it 1000x times you get used to it/bored. Do you think in the next 5-10years you will be in a wing suit where shit starts to get real? The whole flying thing seems like a rat race to me. You constantly have to progress towards the limit, which is super dangerous, otherwise you're bored of doing the same thing over and over again. Eventually the dopamine searching part of the brain overcomes the rational part and you die. Is there ever an off ramp or exit to the feeling of flying?
@rule1dontgosplatАй бұрын
I can’t imagine getting bored paramotoring. I mean if you’re an adrenaline junkie, constantly doing wilder stuff, yeah. But I just enjoy flying around. I don’t care about acro or anything. Just having the freedom to fly, with an aircraft I can put in the trunk of my car and take anywhere, is enough for me.
@VousieАй бұрын
@@rule1dontgosplat Yup, I mean, lots of normal plane pilots are the same way - they just enjoy the feeling of flying, and enjoying the view. But Tucker does seem to be doing more and more dangerous things - first it was normal paramotoring, then sats and other tricks on paramotoring, then base jumping and now this more risky base jumping... I'm getting concerned that he's on the exact path @Djamieson713 mentioned...
@rule1dontgosplatАй бұрын
@@Vousie Ahhhhh… I get it now. When you said “how do you not get bored after you do it 1000 times” you were specifically meaning Tucker. I was thinking you meant any paramotor pilot would get bored after 1000 flights. Thanks for the clarification! It seems a lot of his stuff is done just for youtube… he’s got to entertain his followers with more and more crazy stuff. 1000 videos of him flying around his local LZ wouldn’t pull in the views. Throw in a BASE jump or a SAT or cooking a pizza in mid air and that pulls in the views.
@VousieАй бұрын
@@rule1dontgosplat I didn't say the 1000 flights thing, @Djamieson713 did, but I guess there's kind of two different reasons why a person might like paramotoring: to enjoy the feeling of flying and see the view (like you do), or for the thrill & risk (as Tucker apparently does). It might be he's doing this just for the views, but then, KZbinrs have done dangerous things before just for views... Also, he could've done other videos with paramotors like cooking food or going to various fast food places if he wanted to avoid risky things like this video...

Why????? Statistically one in fifty base jumps ends in a fatality. Way worse than the one in five hundred skydive jumps that do the same. I'm a commercial pilot and wouldn't resort to a parachute unless I was going to burn to death in an aircraft on fire (Or in a sky scraper in the same situation). It's just suicide with strings attached.
@TuckerGottАй бұрын
That statistic is horribly wrong. I have around 400 base jumps now and if that was true, I would have statistically died eight times.
@iangadget3848Ай бұрын
@@TuckerGott Yeah, but you seem to be a very intelligent, careful and incitive individual. For every base jumper like you I'm sure there are ten others not as intelligent. Having said that I did just check those figures and you are right. Fatalities occur at a rate of roughly one in 500,000 in tandem jumps, or at a rate of roughly one in 220,000 with solo jumps. So, I do apologise for my error. Thanks for your reply. Please stay safe. Love watching your content.
