Hi Sue and Stan. You're on the home stretch Sue! What a relief it will be when you can look straight ahead again! You gave some good tips and ideas for those needing it. I was going to say that you'll be ready for Thanksgiving, but I believe Canada has theirs in Sept or Oct? Ours is Thursday, the 28th. My turkey is thawing in the fridge. I miss camping too and can't wait for spring. I still plan on camping at the state parks. Hotel "camping" only in colder weather. Take care!

Update January 8, 2025… Just to let people know, at my two week checkup the hole in the macular had healed over completely, which was the purpose of the gas bubble in the eye, to put pressure on that area and encourage nature to help heal. The retina hole healed and attached properly and I had no infection. It takes up to 6 months for the retina to regenerate, so my eyesight is not perfect yet, but the surgery put the eye in the right direction to heal and recover. Cheers!

Hi there, you poor lady, the things we have to do to stay healthy. But when your already healthy and have to go through eye surgery which is bad enough without the after effect of holding your head just so. I hope your listening to your favorite music and tapping your toes gently and also your fingers . I always loved music in times like that. Also I love schetching ,keeping head down to do that. Or are you unable to do that kind of thing. If I was near I would talk your ears off, no need to hold your head up cause your ears are free to listen. Lol😅😅😅 My topics would range from my plants, which are a little droopy at the moment, my Christmas cactus has bloomed abundantly, not sure of that word. Another topic, baking. I made a Christmas cake, my mother's recipe, and it's ageing well by putting a bit of apricot brandy over it every other day. I made some pineapple muffins, gingersnaps and a pan of brownies. I hope all my chatter gave you a chuckle , I'm wishing you a speedy recovery, and a Merry Christmas. Love irene

@@ireneluciow455 I loved reading your note. Thank you so much … prior to Surgery. They had told me that I would be able to read watch something on my iPad but the problem is I’ve been dealing with so much neck, pain back pain and concentrating all the time on trying to get comfortable, I haven’t been able to settle down to my audiobook. Everything is such a great effort. At least I have the freedom of dictating this response. I too like plants I heard of this great idea where you take the ends of green onions and you put them in soil and they will grow again so I tried that and it worked. I was thinking of putting up a little short on that one it’s so nice to have something grow over the winterand you get to eat the greens. My sister has a Christmas cactus that belonged to our grandfather.. she figures it’s over 100 years old. She had it for many many years still has it but one Christmas it actually bloomed. For years it just stayed green didn’t bloom and then suddenly bloomed. It was so nice to see.. Christmas cakes , I used to wrap them in cheese cloth and soak them with brandy. I made my girlfriends wedding cake that way . In Canada, we follow a very English tradition for weddings, we have fruitcake. I also have a great pineapple muffin recipe that I love . I haven’t made ginger snaps, but I have made brownies. I stopped making brownies because I would eat them all. Thank you so much for wishing me a speedy recovery. I really do hope that keeping my face down helps the eye heal well enough so that I can see properly again. Can’t wait for that day.
