Dude, your perseverance, guttural fortitude, unwillingness to surrender to the path of less resistance is a testimony to your character. I would like to say things are looking good for the cabin. However. you're still in the 'cracking some eggs' stage of this omelet project. See you next week guys.

Well Russ, recycle repurpose and reuse means more effort considering all of those nails. I built my home using a mix of new and recycled lumber. I had no choice with using recycled timber as I didn’t earn enough to buy all new, so buying more materials took time to save. So what else would I do, Denail timber, flooring and chip mortar off used bricks. There was a kind of rhythm to it. You have a really beautiful property.
@thezaytsevs5 ай бұрын
Thank you Paul for sharing , I like to see if I can reuse a lot of it so it can still be an old cabin but only change what’s really needed like some of the logs that are rotten.

Also, with mushrooms, you really have to know what you are doing. I forage mushrooms on my land (Morels, Oysters, Bolete's) but the wrong mushroom can land you in the hospital or worse. The mushrooms you showed are unknown to me. It's been very dry here for about a month so I haven't seen any (edible or not).

Russ you left a building hanging by 4x4s and teetering or balancing on stacks of board and stones??? No foundation OR roof to give it any chance of repair? Disrespect to the original builders… I can no longer watch the disintegration or the past…
@thezaytsevs5 ай бұрын
The cabin will be rebuilt, so there's no need to worry. The roof was actually posing more of a risk to the cabin than the way it's currently positioned on the blocks. It's much safer this way for now.
