Cindy & I were married within 48 hours of me arriving! We just celebrated our 10th anniversary. Like any marriage it's been work with it's ups and downs but it's been amazing overall. The entire time we lived there we kept a significant amount of cash in reserve for an emergency. Fortunately it was never needed while we were there but helped when we decided to move back to the US. This last trip, we all got sick as soon as we went to her hometown. We think it may have had something to do with the volcano on Negros. The only other time we got sick there, we were near an active volcano.

I was good to meet you and Cindy and watch your relationship grow John. We all have ups and downs and that is part of building a stronger relationship. Sorry to hear about your illness.

Point of comparison outside of Manila doctors earn about 3000 per month. You getting more than that from pensions you are living large

Good for you RS. You need vitamin k2 to help utilize it also. I get my k2 from my sauerkraut, eggs, celery, etc and hope it is enough.

Yes Rod, family members back home do shred your mail. I experienced that a few years ago. Had to fly back to California, take care of the situation. Good advice your giving as to having an emergency fund. At least $500-$1000.

Thanks RS. That emergency fun is very important.

Can't disagree, I like women with money. My wife only makes P300k a week but I love her anyway.
@cwby4christ069 күн бұрын
Part of finding a foreign woman and getting rid of scammers is to commit to never giving money, ever. Under no circumstances do not give money. If or when they start asking for it, cut off all association and communication with them. There are a lot of women who want security that doesn’t come in the form of money, but companionship. Tell them you wanna live where they are, if they don’t like, that it mean’s they want a green card.

Lots of good information Rod. Aspirin outside of low dose is hard to come by in the Philippines and I suggest people bring some with them. I just finished sending a lot of vitamins from the USA. I was sick about a year ago and lost 22 pounds in about 10 days because I couldn't keep food down. I always bring triple antibiotic ointment with me because you have no idea how the locally available ointment was stored and it may be no more effective than putting vaseline on an infected cut. You never know, any medicine you buy in the Philippines may have been stored in a warehouse at 120F for a year. Supplements are expensive in the Philippines I have found, they charge like it's medicine so I have them sent from the USA. Take care.

Very good points Robert. I will do another video about supplements soon. Many brands tested do not have what they claim so I stick with a couple with good reputation, Swanson, NOW, and a couple of others. I get most online and sometimes they offer sales.

What do you suggest for helping with sinus congestion from the humidity ? Do you wear fly spray protection during the day and night?

I occasionally, 3-4 times/week, will take a Loratadine tablet. My gf uses a couple of different teas and sometimes when bad, inhales some steam from teas, garlic, ginger, etc. Ambroxol is a cheap decongestant. Mullein Leaf capsules work better but are expensive on Lazada.

Rod , l got sick my 1st time in the Philippines, l had a allergic reaction to canned tuna , don’t know why, but my throat swelled up and l was choking and my ex’s family was like 🤯. I thought I wasnt going make it, I was at camiguin island and there is no hospital no where near but somehow I cleared my throat but they fed me ramen noodles and eggs for the rest of my trip 😂, my last time I travelled there, my feet and ankles swollen up, I noticed it when l laid over in China , so l brought compression socks and the next time I come , I will get a seat in the asle , so l get up and walk because I’m traveling from Newark NJ to there and it’s like 23 hour flight

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think that long seated plane ride has a lot to do with initial illness here. I have a friend who often gets laryngitis for a week or 2 and can barely talk.

Great Video very informative. Have to say you remind me of "James Stewart " the way you talk. There is an additional $10000 dollar non-returnable Retirement deposit you must find if you are not from the US $1200 Dollars if you are ! Renewable annually for around $1200 for all !
