The green marks are probably zoo plankton. They only come out at night. Try changing your color selection on your flasher to only the red and yellow setting. At least that helps on my flx28

Flipping empty sleds upside down helps keep them from filling with snow. Congrats on the new shack and I look forward to more ice camping. Do you have much experience with dead baits on tip ups? In my experience there's less action, but bigger PIKE. Could be a good multi day trip midweek while most community men are stuck working. You're most likely marking large pods of zoo plankton on the vexilar after dark. As for melting through the ice not a chance we've had all day bonfires on the ice and barely made a dent.

The bugs at night are crappie food coming out of the bottom you should put some tiny glow tungstens on a pole half depth crappie fishing at night is amazing at times and try crawlers for cats I've been getting a ton thru the ice. Smaller panfish sleep at night and wont peck away at it
