While I do think Arch scored, I can see why they didn't overturn the call on the field. What I don't understand is how they placed the ball at the 1. It should have been about 6 inches outside of the goal line, at most, and then Wisner's run would have been a touchdown.

But Texas also made a lot of mistakes the back to back false start and pre snap movements. You can’t have that many minor self inflicted wounds as the number one team. But I will say to look that sloppy in the first and still have such a one sided win says alot about how talented this Texas team really is.

Gents, as always, I love your takes. Many of the Holds were a bit 'ticky-tack,' the one against Gunnar in particular, but I also felt like that officiating crew missed a ton of personnel fouls from Miss State's side. Overall, their guys were a bit classless on the field and off with a lot of jawing at Texas players, 'celebrating' after plays despite never being close. I hope Lebby will curtail that and not encourage it like some coaches do.

i counted 5 drives that should’ve been touchdowns but were either fumbles, dropped passes, holdings, or coaching mistakes. the score should’ve been 66-9 if texas just didn’t make any costly mistakes. i’m not asking for texas to make spectacular plays, i’m just asking for texas to limit their costly mistakes. Sark set a standard at Texas, and they did not meet that standard offensively this game.

Sark's call was worse than Blue fumble. It was a turnover and stole 3 points from his team, stole a great kick from Bert, and gave opponent momentum. He has got to learn not to make those dumb in game plays.

* Longhorns may have to win with the majority of the offense based on the passing game...kind of an evolution of the late Coach Leach's attack. I always thought it was very frustrating to defend the Leach spread offense because he didn't hesitate to pass the football on 3rd and 2, etc., and then go for first downs on 4th and whatever. He frequently made first downs on those fourth down tries. Texas fans will find out what Coach Sark does with a less-than- championship ground game as this season progresses. He already likes the short passing game as a substitute for a superior running game. The obvious alternative to this theory is to develop the Freshman "Baby Rhino" in place of the injured Baxter and carry on as if he still had Baxter.
