Thanks for getting this type of glorious footage. Stay at home mom of 2 here and my mouth dropped open when seeing that bait ball as it came in so focus at first I thought where is it then it focused and it was amazing. I know that moment you were waiting for, for years, was to you worthless but to me just the experience would be a great memory to hold onto. I never let my hopes get higher than I can hold onto. I’ve learned this over the years with loss and many things in life shut not working out. However, I always tell myself now even if my hopes are crushed I can’t let it ruin my day. I have watched my girls get their hopes so high I couldn’t hold on to them but instead of letting them crumble I reach ups no hold on with all I have and try to make the best out of a bad situation. Because even when times are hard or the world is become ugly I can always find beauty within.

You guys are completely insane. I've lived in Northern Norway for over 50 years. I do have a scuba diving licence, and I've met a lot of other divers. And you are the FIRST ones I've EVER heard about diving in the region in the winter in WETSUITS. NO ONE else do that. Heck, even in the summer, most prefer drytsuits with some layer underneath :) Great video, btw, thanks a lot for it, very entertaining! My only complaint is that you're not telling where you are. I saw you checking the forecast for Myre, which is in the region of Vesterålen (a little northeast of world-famous Lofoten). I've been there a few times, I live not that far from it, only 4 hours drive including a 1hour ferry. But not everyone has local knowlege of the region. When it comes to giant versions of halibut and cod. Yes, they exist. Halibut can pass 100kg (or even near 300kg in *extremly* rare cases) and cod up to 60kg. But giant versions are so rare that I knew from the beginning you wouldn't catch any. I wouldn't spend money chasing those particular giants, you'll just waste them. But for the experience of diving here? Hell yeah! Btw, try diving in Saltstraumen near Bodø next, the world's most powerful maelstrom. You won't regret it. Yes, you *can* dive there, the stream slows down when it turns.
@DanielMann2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Johnny, our crew have had a bit of success on halibut in Norway with Andy getting one 76kg and I’ve got them up to 47kg. Certainly not going to catch them sitting at home thinking it’s all too hard!

Daniel, a veeeeeeeeeeery old discussion back in Spearboard pointed out that pneumatic guns are a best choice over banded guns for fridgid conditions like the ones in your video. The cold does not seem to affect the phisics of compressed air as much as it affects band contraction speed. So the pneumatic guns shot more consistently. Great video!!!!
