Great videos, beautifully composed shots. You really show the landscape to its best advantage. Your commentary is informative and relevant. Your fitness is amazing! (Just take care not to get bitten by a tick during the summer when you are tempted to wear shorts. Lyme disease is something you seriously do not want.)🙂

This has to be the most beautiful and most authentic video ever on climbing the mountains of Scotland in winter.. and so awfully cold 🥶 🥶🥶🥶🥶!! So thankful we were to see you had a hiking buddy as well.. many of those drop offs were awesome indeed🥹🥺🥶 We felt bad that you were unable to have a warm dinner.. although as always you make the best of it.. and focus on the abundant beauty all about you.. those video shots of the sunsets and mountains were breathtaking.. so beautiful they brought tears😭😭 What an adventure, this! We were glad when you reached less treacherous ground! Thank you ever so much for this grand video.. we feel as though we are right beside you.. especially the scenes where you show the depth of the footprints you leave behind! Your epic adventures are first rate.. the best we have ever seen.. and your gentle and informative commentary along the way is so much appreciated..❄️ We truly loved this one.. you are as amazing as the beautiful land you are walking through..💜💙 William and Jen

Really cold and challenging conditions. Butane liquefies at minus one degree, so no longer being a gas, you have problems. As your viewers have said, use body heat to warm the canister, and certainly have it in your sleeping bag at night! Enjoy your hot noodles next time!

You might consider a primus omnifuel stove, which works at any temperature because you pump it to ensure pressure. The Ti version is lighter, but less powerful. Other brands are available, but I can recommend this particular stove.. Excellent video, well done lads.

Great video, that sunrise looked special. Those are some of my favourite Munro's, camped on the third a few years ago. Correct decision made on the other two Munro's, the ridge between is quite exposed in places.
@mikemccormac93682 ай бұрын
My original old 'campinggaz' burner was charged with pure butane, which gave little pressure at a little under 0° cent. I believe the modern types are a mix of butane and propane that performs to lower temperatures, but even so, it can take a long while to boil water. Not something you can tolerate if you're sitting in the open on a mountain top like yourselves🥶 Propane works at higher pressure, so cartridge has to be thicker/stronger, hence heavier to carry. Always a compromise!

You might have to look into buying a liquid fuel cooker for sub zero conditions Gregor, or gas canisters with a higher percentage of Propane Haha and while you're at it, a pair of gaiters to stop the snow gettin in ya boots lol Beautiful wintery views and lighting on this video

Proper winter night out. Very enjoyable video, great footage. Can I ask, do/did you consider microspikes for such hikes or don't you find it that necessary? I'm a winter hike novice tbh but planning a Highland winter hike myself and trying to plan the proper equipment.
@ScottishSummiteer2 ай бұрын
Yeh I’d definitely take micro spikes/crampons and an ice axe if you’re heading above the snow line. You may not need them if the snow is soft, but always better safe than sorry👍
@alasdairmackenzie905Ай бұрын
Great film - thoroughly enjoyed. Get that little gas canister in your sleeping bag with you or under your down jacket for a wee while next time - it will soon come up to working temperature. If you don't want to do that then take a hexy burner with you.

Why do people bring two tents why not just share the load and sleep in same ten it also gives more heat with two people i genuinely don't get that 🤷♂️
