This video is another example of why trucking logistics experts deserve so much respect. Further, why O/Os and truckers that apply these data-driven analytics to their business deserve so much respect. If people think that O/Os are just "steering wheel holders," Miranda proves how to be successful, or at least able to survive a market downturn, one needs to be almost a transportation CPA and MBA at the same time. These tools she has devised are learnable, and can make the difference between "rolling the dice" with your business, and actually using analytics to make sure that you are profitable, or at least breaking even while riding out this market correction. I hope that when she monetizes the dispatching course, that people sign up and pay for it. The information she provides here is invaluable, and those that follow her advice will see more $$$ in their accounts, even though her profitability calculator in today's video won't show "$$$" signs... :)

Glad I found your channel. Your content is great and the delivery is very fun and professional. I’ve been trucking for 3 years now and I’m currently running for a company out of the port. I’ve done regional loads out of the port Dallas, Austin, San Antonio etc and back nightly. As of now I’m doing yard runs. I’d like to venture out and get my own truck while leasing onto one of the many companies available out here. Also I have financing ready for a truck. Monthly payment will be roughly 1300 when my monthly expenses are relatively low as a single dude. How do you feel about the Texas market? Is it a good time?

Hello, You provide great content by the way. I use to be a company driver many many years ago and want to get back into the industry as a driver. With what is going on now and the videos you are pushing regarding the decreasing market, do you think its best to be a company driver for a mega carrier or maybe wait for the market to pick up and then get my own authority and start my own business? Meaning, as of today, would you be a company driver, lease on to a carrier, or own authority? Thanks in advance. Love the content and guidance.

How should one negotiate buying a truck when they are too many trucks on all the lots?
@Whatever0704
@Whatever0704 Жыл бұрын
What about depreciation on the truck? Do you not factor that in? e.g. A brand new truck will depreciate a lot for the first miles. Thinking about buying a brand new Ram 5500 for around 100K, will pay it cash. But I would need to factor on the depreciation on it per mile.

Let say tomorrow morning you have enough cash and all experience as you have so far,,,, do you think are you going to jump in trucking with 1 truck and trailer? or would you rather wait to see new year or so? If your answer is wait and see then how long you think something will appear to solid sign that it is good to start,,, Please forgive my ignorance I am just asking to get some brainstorming and new ideas from you and other fellows who are your videos subscriber ,,, Thnx and have a good weekend everyone

So if my best buddy is a broker and he can guarantee me $2.20/ mile loaded or empty power only, and do about 2000 miles per week i should go for it? Seems like it might be a good time to buy a (lightly?) used truck and jump in if i don’t have to fight for freight.

One thing i would highly recommend new authorities do is book a CR England load so you can get in their system. They will put you on their discount program for maintenance and tires at Loves. Even if you break even on the load it's worth it to be in the program for life. Some other megas might do the same im nor sure. Also most brokers putting loads on the load board is last resort for them. They really want to work with you like you said in the beginning of the video. And they will pay more to know you will do a good job. Great video..and if a broker is late tell them you will file against their bond 🤣 that will get them paying

you can take the load but the factoring company you use will not factor the bills you would have to bill it yourself or if they offer some kind of quick pay for a percentage you could use that. I'm including the specific video link for the video I thought you might find interesting. : kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWGqYmhndtefias ...I certainly don't know exactly how you trip plan etc. What I saw that I thought was cool was she showed some kind of fuel cost map. You can input your start and end points and by reviewing the fuel costs at various stations, you can trip plan where to fuel up before you even leave your start point. She also used a DAT map and other things that I thought were very nuts and bolts. You may do this stuff already. Can't hurt to check it out though. Stay safe.
