Wow thank you so much Ahsante for this video! I'm currently a freshman and recently I've been missing old acquaintances and trying to meet new friends. I am also a work-oritented person so I did a poor job in maintaining the relationships. A lot of old friends ended up being "the cloud" when we see each other in socials but don't really chat with each other and I don't really chat with others often. Not quite sure if my social life is healthy or not..... If you have some good tips about reconnecting with others, plzzz make a video about that as well~

Glad you appreciate! Yeah it is tough when you loose touch. In my experience, it's very possible to re-kindle a relationship if it was solid to begin with, provided that each person has the time needed to really stay in touch. So for me it's been about finding the people who it's worth it to carve out time for, and who want to carve out time for me (not taking it personally if someone is busy), and then never being afraid to send the first text! And to follow up!

This is were we differ a lot. For me the title "friendship system" makes it sound so disingenuous, I know intellectually it's not, but I would hate it. If I had to have reoccurring meetings with someone, I'd start to resent them by the third meeting, I think. And I hate the, to my mind, empty "happy holidays" wishes, especially for birthdays/namedays because they make me feel guilty for not sending same to the persons congratulating me, but not guilty enough to do the work of setting up a system to do it. Because I want friends for play, not work, and systems to do something regularly feel like work. With my attitude I do wonder a bit if I'll end up super lonely in my old age, but if internet keeps existing I think I'll survive.
