Surviving Ringworm

Surviving Ringworm

Күн бұрын

The four wheeler gets abused enough out here, being my only transportation around the woods. To keep from having to cover it every time the weather turns, I decided it needed its own carport. I first hung the roof from the trees just to see if it was possible to build a legless garage. But now with another Michigan winter closing in, I was afraid the snow load would rip the trees down. After a few days' work, the atv garage has legs and lots of shelving thanks to milling scraps and one mostly rotten cedar log.
Because I’ve gotten so many questions about the gear that I use on the channel, here are some of the most important pieces I use every day:
(I do receive a small commission from sales associated with the following links. Any income from these sales goes directly to supporting me in making new videos for this channel!)
My Favorite Piece of Gear- Chainsaw Helmet amzn.to/3uuW5xB
Granberg Chainsaw Mill amzn.to/3cdRXvn
How I Keep the Mosquitoes Away! amzn.to/3frenvh
Big, Black Log-Peeling Knife - Becker BK9 amzn.to/3oZIeOH
The Trailer I Use Behind My 4 Wheeler- Yutrax amzn.to/3fvO8DK
Bug Net Rooms I Use amzn.to/3uwOK0l
Portable Heaters in My Tent and the Deer Castle amzn.to/3frQ7Jh
Thank you all so much for supporting this crazy endeavor! Without you folks donating to Surviving Ringworm, I wouldn't be able to even consider staying out here in the wilderness a second year making videos. You seriously blow my mind!

Push comes to shove. Middle of the worst part of winter... You could evict the 4x4, hang some plastic on the sides of this thing, and put your tent inside. It would give you at least a bit more protection from the cold and snow.

I can relate to your joy at something as simple as shelves. I live by myself out in the woods, as well. I've taken a bit different track than you have, in that I built a tiny building, and live in the building. I marvelled for a couple years at having running water. Then at having HOT and cold running water! I have now been ecstatic for over a year at the MAGIC of a spray wand on the sink!!! Whoever invented that thing deserves wings!!!

Buy 4 pumice blocks, then place 1 under each leg so it is raised 8 inches and you won’t bang your head when riding in on on the 4 wheeler. Put a tar based shingle on the pumice block to stop water wicking into the legs. Fasten the whole thing down so wind doesn’t move it.

The shed reminds me of the figure four traps I used to make to trap squirrels. The squirrel would bump one of the sticks and the log would come down and squash it. When the ATV bumps one of the posts, it will get captured under the roof.
