We had a 4 door '66 Newport in dark metallic green with a 383 when I was a kid. My dad had been a Buick guy but decided to try a Chrysler and fell in love with that car. He kept it for 20 years and took great care of it. It ran so smooth my mom would think that the engine had died when we would come to a stoplight. I always loved that body style in a convertible...such a big flat slab of a car that just looks great with the top down. Thanks, Lou!

Wow, Lou, that owner has himself a really nice vehicle. How many of those do you see today? That is a really impressively sized car - it must be over 19 feet long. Gives meaning to the term "land yacht"! The wheel covers, although they are intended for a 300, gives the car sort of a custom look. If they're not correct, so what? The owner is quite happy; he can do whatever he wants. I would like to see you go for a ride in that car, Lou, and I'm sure you'll get one! I can hear that song "Love Shack" by the B-52's, in which you hear the words "Hop in my Chrysler, it's as big as a whale . . ." Not quite _that_ big, but it's big enough for the highway! Thanks again, Lou! You always outdo yourself with these videos!

I didn’t like the looks of it near as wellwhen the top was down as I did when it was up, I thought it looked better. That was a 2010 and I thought it was funny that you made the same reservation.😮❤

Outside of being the entry-level Chrysler, i believe reading in Consumer Reports, they stated that the Newport model wasn't needed. I remember that the Newport cost about $1k more than a Plymouth VIP with every available option. If you had to have a Chrysler, you'd be better off buying a New Yorker. This is a cool convertible and that is probably the reason that it didn't follow it's siblings to the junk yard.

This car is in really good shape for a survivor. These questions were not asked. What engine does it have and is it a two or four barrel carb. How and where did he find it? Was this a car he was looking for? How long has he owned it? Does he drive it regularly and does he attend cruise ins? The top and rear window are in awesome shape. It must have been replaced. Does he know when that was done or did he have it done after he purchased it? The top went down so fast which makes me think the motor and other parts of the power roof must have been replaced or rebuilt at some point.
