I’ll never forget being invited to Black Thanksgiving, told to make Green Bean Casserole, and making a Cream of Mushroom by myself, making crispy onion straws myself, and I walked in and no one touched it!!!! 😫 I ate Green Bean Casserole every day for two weeks!!!! 😭😭😭 They learned I could cook but it’s a rough initiation process. 😂

A roux is a paste made of fat (usually butter) and flour. When you add milk to that, it's a bechamel (or white sauce/white gravy). Brice, I've seen people put an egg yolk in a cheese sauce, I'm gonna try an egg in my mac this year.

Just make a white sauce and add cheese, Jack. Turn the heat off as soon as it starts to boil, then add the cheese a handful at a time. Also, don't use pre-shredded cheese, you need to shred it or dice it yourself. A white sauce, or bechamel, is just some butter and flour made into a paste (a roux), then milk is added after that. It's super easy.

@HopeAndrea_HFG Yeah I mean ofc you can shred it with a food processor if you have one, but yeah, you don't want to use pre-shredded cheese because it contains some cornstarch to keep the shreds from sticking together in the bag.
