Survivor Of Assassination Attempt on Bob Marley & Survivor of Assassination of Peter Tosh

On December 3rd, 1976, Bob Marley was shot by unknown gunmen inside his home at 56 hope road; Bob of course survived that assault and lived another 5 years before passing from unrelated causes in 1981 but no such luck for fellow wailer, Peter Tosh. On September 11, 1987, on that day 3 gunmen pumped a hail of bullets in Tosh and 6 others at his home in Kingston, Tosh and two of his colleagues succumbed to their bullet wounds. One of the 5 survivors is Carlton Santa Davis who is on our stage right now along with Donald Kinsey, guitarist for both Bob and Peter and who was present at Bob's shooting in '76'.

To be honest still though ... and we were not there ... Santa may have hurried away with his own wound, but it's obvious that Peter was specifically taken out by the killers. Shamar Williams, firstly calling someone an idiot doesn't reflect well on you. Secondly having met Peter Tosh back in the mid sixties, I wouldn't rule out his possibility of him surviving a gunshot to the head(A few other people have survived being shot to the head).Still I wasn't there and not aware of the extent of his injury nor am I a doctor. I did however meet him several times(Half Way Tree, North Street among other places) and I always called him sir. His music lives on and my memory of him remains.
