I don’t own this pen but I’ve held and used a Reglus a few years ago. It was a blue one, with a pretty good steel fine nib. The pen’s design and style look quite nice to me, all round. Sailor has several other different relatively little-known pens like this one that, in my opinion, are quite worth owning and using frequently. In any case, I’d take any Sailor pen, including the Reglus, over many of the popular contemporary pens like the lousy, ugly Lamy Safari and many others. edit: I’d recommend the Sailor Barcarolle. It seems rarely talked about. A metal bodied, long, slender pen, snap cap, c/c filling, with 14k gold nib. It used to be available in a handful of different colors. I own the dark green one. Sailor just rules!

I'm not a big fan of the Safari. I have one and never ink it up. I'm tempted to ink it up with some horrific bright ink and just leave it at school for correcting purposes. I've heard good things about Sailor. I really love their Zoom nib. I liked the Realo, but ended up trading it because it was a good pen, but not anything special. They are good pens. There are just others I like better.

Always enjoy the blast from the past references. I think this is right around when I “discovered” your channel. I don’t remember the pen. I like it. I am not a Sailor guy, but I like that it doesn’t look like the “regular Sailor’s. Thanks for the 2nd chance to see it.

I'm glad you've stuck with me for so long! And you're right: it doesn't look like other Sailor pens. That gives me a reason to use it more often. I'm picturing a purple ink in it...

Good review, Jason. FWIW, if one knew little about fountain pens and were given one of these to use everyday, such an one would probably be quite happy with it. Glad to hear about the house; it's the best investment for little people like us. Cheers from the shearing shed.

This is a good pen for daily use. I just like some other pens better for that purpose.

Heard about this model for the first time, googled it out of curiosity, found listing of at least 3 models - Reglus, Regusaru, Leglas - which look the same !

Thanks for another great video. I feel the same way. I have only 2 sailor pens, a 1911 Young and a Le Coule, and I know they are on the cheaper side for Sailor, but they don't make me want to buy another one. They are just OK. Not bad, but they don't live up to the hype about Sailor pens.

The only Sailor I've had so far that I truly love is one with a zoom nib. That is a lot of fun!
