I've got a reasonable amount of outdoors experience, but I still shudder at the thought of sleeping out in the open without a tent or shelter. Just too many creatures that can waltz right up to you.

Love Les but he made a small mistake. He mentions giardia a number of times throughout this episode and that you can get it even by bathing or washing in the waters. He ate fresh fish raw which is really a bad idea considering the fish live in the waters he spoke of.

The water doesn't get inside the fish though.

Love your videos. I've been watching for years. That dead animal looked like a Pronghorn.

I normally don’t criticize Les Stroud but in this episode he could have tried to rub Dandelion juice onto the Horses 🐎 backs to ward off the Mosquitoes eating them alive. That would have been good. This is the first time I found that he fell short a bit. The horses are important and need protection.

I was searching for a comment like this! Thank-you for caring. I have gone out bush solo before too and the animals are my first priority, always. Because if you lose them, you're fkd. So many natural bug repellents out there and appreciate his work, dude is badass, and respect for leaving the baby birds, but yeah need to protect the animals better. A simple oversight makes the world of difference for them. Take care mate (sorry I know this is old, just really valued your advice and concern for the horses 👍)
