First you take my heart In the palm of your hand And you squeeze it tight Then you take my mind And play with it all night You take my pride And you throw it up against the wall You take me in your arms, baby And bounce me like a rubber ball I'm not complaining What you're doing, you see 'Cause this hurting feeling Is oh so good to me Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) It hurts so good.. You take my name And you scandalise it in the street Oh anything you wanna do Say it's alright by me You turned right around And make sweet love to me Ooh wee baby, it sure felt good to me 'Cause baby, these things you're doing to me It hurts so bad But it's worth all the misery Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) It hurts so good.. Ooh baby, ooh, yeah, ooh, ooh Ooh boy, please don't ever Take the heat off me 'Cause it would hurt even more Say if you ever, ever leave Even though sometimes It's hard for me to bear Oh, I'll make myself hold on 'Cause if it kills me, I don't care 'Cause baby, I don't want you to ever quit It ain't no good till it hurts a little bit Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) Don't you know that it (hurts so good..) It hurts so good..

from this white Irishman who loves a fine tune in all its' many glorious forms, this is another Trojan masterpiece.. music needs singing by the finefilks who penned it...because their emotions and their stories are what I want to hear, and only they can convey the feelings to match the funk. These artists are incredible, and their argus timeless as a result God's blessings on all of ye.

[20 December 2022] From the beautiful Susan Cadogan - who was (as far as I can tell, although I may be wrong) Lee "Scratch" Perry's only female protege; his very own Trilby, you know what I mean? - a song so sweetly supplicative that it borders on masochistic, a sweet Receiver's song unto a Sender (and if you don't know what I'm getting at with all this talk about Senders and Receivers, you really ought to brush up your Burroughs [William S., I mean; *not* Edgar Rice]). I was rather disappointed to find out that "Hurt So Good" was originally written by somebody named Philip Michael, and that it was originally a hit for U.S R&B singer Millie Jackson. When I first heard Susan Cadogan singing this, I truly hoped that Lee Perry had written this song specifically for Cadogan, his own Trilby; that it was Perry writing a glorification of himself for a woman to sing. Lines like "First you take my heart/In the palm of your hand/And you squeeze it tight;/Then you take my mind/And play with it all night..." sound like they could very well describe someone like Perry, that great mad trickster, who famously boasted of having a messed-up mind and who loved to mess around with other peoples' minds too.

@@stonyhillpo Aww....Sorry about your dad, he lived to a incredible age of 106, that's absolutely fantastic to have all those experiences of life.. if my parents both passed away, but had they lived they'd be in their mid 80's like Lee Perry, so he had a long life too.
