AS CANTOR OF A REFORM SYNAGOGUE IN MELBOURNE, FLORIDA I HAVE JUST ADDED THIS IN TO OUR FRIDAY NIGHT SERVICES - BUT TO CORRECT THE RECORD, ONE OF THE COMMENTS BELOW CALLED THIS A BEAUTIFUL VERSION OF THE DEBBIE FRIEDMAN CLASSIC! THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DEBBIE FRIEDMAN IT IS AN ORIGINAL SETTING BY COMPOSER SUSAN COLIN. PLEASE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. RAYMOND IN MELBOURNE

Thank you so much, Ray, for the correction, and for using this piece.

Susan, I've listened to every Mi Shebeirach I could find on KZbin and yours is on another level. It's a perfect setting for meditation, breathing, and healing. Sounds like it has always existed. Thank you and Shana Tova!

Gordon, I just now saw your beautiful message. Thank you, thank you. I'm especially proud that this came out exactly as I'd envisioned, the heartbeat/pulse, the doppler effect of the prayer coming in and going out...Blessings to you.

What a beautiful version of Debbie Friedman's classic! I love it - for those who need healing and myself.

i sang behind Debbie when we were both still in high school and she was developing "sing unto god" . this is not at all like Debbie's rendering of misheberach. this is a completely different melody and the full prayer in Hebrew. Debbie's version is an excerpt of Hebrew mixed with English. a very amazing work by an artist i've never heard of until now because it played right after a version of Debbie's that i just played for a prayer call for a friend's daughter.

This is not a version of Debbie's piece (although I did record a cover version of that setting, which is on the CD Shabbat Favorites.) This is an original setting I composed using the full text of the prayer.

@@TommyTooter This is not a Debbie Friedman anything. This is a prayer. Debbie Friedman happened to do a version of it (my least favorite, but that's just personal taste).

Me neither, I can't listen to it once, just need to play it at least three times. I don't know why.
