My all-time favorite movie! I never get tired of watching it. A real plot, with real actors that have real talent...a true classic film!

I remember the first time I saw this movie on TV Land back in the mid 2000's. I was addicted to this movie from the start, and still am today. I as a 24 year old male don't view this movie as being political, or anti-man at all. I think it's no different from Smokey and The Bandit, as far as being a good roadtrip/buddy film, although the plot in T&L is more serious than Smokey. Not once was I offended, I just felt sympathetic for these ladies and all the crap they went through right up to the end, which btw has a way to this day about dragging the tears out a lil bit. Great movie all around that I could watch twice and still want to watch again.

Glad I am in 2016...gosh how pathetic is to have to listen to that presenter's judgemental question about this film being anti-men...this would never slide today. So awkward to be listening to Susan try and tip toe around this and explain how the move is or doesn't intend to make some men insecure....so cringed as a guy to listen to that kind of bullshit. Brilliant film and good on Ridley to tackle it 91...which obviously made this film political and for all the right reasons!

+nizver I agree...It so happens that whenever you tell a man you are a feminist these days, he will immediately judge you to be a hardcore anti-man lesbian who cannot find a boyfriend (actually it's sad that this kind of perception is prevalent in many women as well). What is even worse is when some men declare they are feminists just in order to sound more progressive and so get women to like them, without actually understanding the nuanced complexities of feminism as an ideology and also source of activism.

nizver I don't think the presenter thinks that. I think he's giving Sarandon a platform to dispel those rumors/opinions

@@AndrewBourne The interviewer is Gene Shalit. He was a very well known and respected film critic back in the day. People seeing this interview now are reading way too much negativity into it.
