I've had the chance to meet her twice, 1986 and 2015 along with seeing the Bangles in concert in 1986, 1989, and 2015. Still one of my all time favs.

If someone told me in 1987 that I would be watching and enjoying Susanna Hoffs in 2022, I wouldn't have believed it. In 1987 I saw band with good looking women, but nothing really beyond that. Today I see Susanna as a beautiful and ageless woman, with talent that I did not appreciate before. She has a beautiful voice that comes out better now than when it was masked the Bangles. Shout out to Susanna. She also seems nice and humble. Unlike so many rock stars

@@Modernaire Prince's original demo? Prince wasn't even satisfied with it. That's why he offered it to the Bangles. It was a better fit. And this arrangement with a chamber orchestra? Yes. It is elegant and classy. That doesn't mean the original by the Bangles wasn't good. It was great. It reached N°2 on Billboard. And by the way, I never said this version was "more" elegant or classy than the original. I just said that it was elegant and classy, and I stand by that.

I can remember listening to Manic Monday in 1986. I was going to Wilfrid Laurier University and walking up Hazel Street to my apartment, listening to the Bangles on my Sony Walkman. I had just finished a rugby practice. The sun was shining and all seemed right with the world. It is one of the those moments, for whatever reason, you remember.

I saw them in maybe 1985 at a little hole in Los Angeles called, "The Anti Club" with a main room about size of a large living room. They announced that they had changed their name from "The Bangs" (their original name) to "The Bangles" due to some kind of trademark dispute with another band so it was a few days after that. I remember Susanna was the most charismatic person I had ever seen. She exuded it, and I'm not a personality cult person. She would wave her hand and the crowd would move closer, and just a small gesture of some kind and people would do what she wanted.
