This honestly feels like a missed opportunity because if they're gonna do an anniversary version, I feel like it should have all the stuff from Sushi Go Party plus more and better quality.
@MussoGames3 ай бұрын
It’s not the 10th anniversary of Sushi Go Party. It’s possible they’ll make another edition of party in 2 years but it’s the same as Ticket to Ride anniversary editions. A nice edition of the original makes sense cause it’s more celebratory than anything.

Froyo is an ADORABLE concept that I'm terrified of long term. No way that stays working 5 years later.

just turn it around in an opaque sleeve if the heat sensitive part stops working

For everyone worried about the froyo working with sleeves, I can confirm it works fine with mine in 100 micron premium sleeves. The downside is like all my other Gamewright games, the insert will not fit sleeves. Ive had to cut the insert to fit.

I don't quite get who this is for. For people who want more variability in gameplay, party is there. But this isn't compatible with party. For people who want no extra time in setup, and just want to play the game without any sorting through the deck, the regular is there - this still has the setup time. If the backs were compatible with party, I would buy this; for now, I'm just waiting for a party anniversary edition that I doubt will come.
@StarcraftOakley3 ай бұрын
I'm not exactly ectatic about the little boat and the squishy dessert. Feels like they are just throwing in toys for no extra benefit. Also, a huge missed opportunity is not printing the little bonus point cubes in a black plastic to symbolize the soy sauce. Having a few green ones would be fine as that is the wasabi many people put into the sauce, but the "main" amount of cubes should have been black... I really like the foil cards and the heat changing cards. I wonder if the black temp changing effect will rub off / stop working over time? Either way, cool idea. I wouldn't buy this pack for the extra bits. Cards look good. Probably just gonna recommend Sushi Go Party to people instead, this edition needs more refinement.

I personally prefer the original over party. Given who I would play this with, we don’t play enough to want to go through extra setup. The base game is perfect for its target audience. The party is for fans.

Tried both Party and this edition and Roll. We absolutely love Roll most and then Sushi Go second with Party last. This 10 year anniversary edition even adds different deserts for variability without the added complexity and space hogging party adds. I haven't played any version of Sushi Go!. What is the difference between Sushi Go! and Sushi Go! Party?
@TPH2502904 ай бұрын
Sushi Go has 8 card types and you play with all of them each game. Party has 20ish card types and you mix and match 8 to use each game. There is more variety and therefore more longevity in the game, but to be honest the original cards are generally the ones that produce a more balanced game.
@Naru-Maki4 ай бұрын
Definitely have a look and sushi go roll too! It's our favorite!
@Hieronymus-Pseudonymous3 ай бұрын
Another difference is that the original hs you draw the cards for each hand from the same large deck shuffled at the beginning of the game. For SG Party to have many more different cards, this was changed to using the same set of cards (the set you're using in that session) each hand, replenishing the dessert cards each time because the taken desserts are kept until the end. This makes Party more predictable.
